Christmas Creations Blog Hop

Today, the design team for My Life in Arts N' Crafts is sponsoring a blog hop to give you some ideas for the holiday season. It's a short hop that showcases some card ideas plus gift ideas. Please join us and be inspired.

Jessi, from My Life in Arts N' Crafts, will be giving away some of her red  and hunter green colored jute and 5 action wobbles and all you have to do be in the drawing is to visit her blog, become a follower, and leave a comment.

Today, I have made a goodie box and tied it up in the red jute. I love to give neighbors and friends a box of home made goodies each holiday season. My mother-in-law visits and we bake and bake and then the family helps me distribute the boxes. I have found it's a great way to get to know the neighbors and bring a little cheer for the holiday season.

This box is full of rum balls.

Yummy Rum Balls - Christmas Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

3 cups finely crushed vanilla wafers (about 75)
2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts (about 4 ounces)
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup rum
1/4 cup light corn syrup
Powdered or granulated sugar

Directions:

Mix crushed wafers, powdered sugar, pecans and cocoa.

Stir in rum and corn syrup.

Shape mixture into 1-inch balls. Roll in powdered sugar.

Refrigerate in tightly covered container several days before serving

Variation: Bourbon can be substituted for rum.

Yield: About 60 cookies.

You can buy a cute little box from most any store this season or you can make one yourself. I used my Cricut and a cutting file from SVG Cuts called Christmas Gift Bags and Boxes. The box measures about 5 1/2 inches x 5 1/2 inches by 3 inches high which is just the rights size for about 15 rum balls on the bottom and some cookies on top.
