Tamara's bday hop

Welcome to our very special birthday blog hop for our Queen, Tamara. Today Miss Tamara is celebrating her “21st” birthday and the family wanted to celebrate with a surprise birthday hop.

To help us out in the celebration, we asked a few of our loyal followers to join in with us. I hope you all enjoy the hop and don’t forget to leave lots of Birthday Wishes for Tamara here on the blog
The hop will end on February 24th. One lucky participant will receive the digi used on the
families projects, Gwenavere, all you have to do is leave a comment on all blogs and at

the end (which is the stamping chef blog) comment that you have left some love
for all . The winner will be posted on February 25th.

Here is the way Miss Gwenavere presented herself to me.

I used my Promarkers to color Gwenavere. The caption and castle are stamps that I used Zing embossing powder on. I colored the castle and sky with my Pebble Inc. chalks. The colored jute is from My Life in Arts and Crafts.
A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAMARA.
Please continue on to Audry's blog.

Fire or Ice Blog Hop

This hop is based on the famous poem "Fire and Ice" by Robert Frost. Even though the poem is of the humankind's demise I still love it. Every time I hear this poem, shades of reds and blues dance in my head.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

My projects aren't done yet but hopefully they'll be done this morning.  These pretty digital stamps from The Stamping Chef work beautifully when you think of blue and red.

Now please continue on to Lynne's blog.

Shake those TaTa's - It's Mardi Gras Time!!!!

Welcome to Shake Those TaTa's - It's Mardi Gras Time!!!! Fat Tuesday!!!!!We had such a great parade last year and thought we need to do it again! Let's throw some beads off the floats, get our masks on and party like we've never partied before.

We have a great group of party animals to showcase their floats and toss some beads. Be sure to give everyone some bloggie love as there will be some blog candy along the way!

  2. Miriam - http://miriamscreations.blogspot.com
  3. Edwina - http://edwinascreations.blogspot.com/
  4. Jearise - http://lorbysworld.blogspot.com
  5. Anita-    http://www.anitaandbugs.blogspot.com
  6. Janet -  http://ladyluvbug.blogspot.com/

Lynne has some goodies in her stash that one lucky winner will receive if they remark at each stop along the way . . . .

I haven't done a digital layout in awhile so I thought with all the wild colors of Mardi Gras it was time to do one.

To give you an idea what I have up my sleeve for tonight, I plan on making gumbo and a king cake. I've made the King Cake before. It's easy. Just buy some Pillsbury cinnamon roll dough, knead it together some, twist is and bring it around to form a circle and then bake. Bury the baby Jesus or trinket after it's out of the oven and cooled some and then pour the glaze over it. (Personally,  I would rather have Punchkes since I'm Polish but I have never found any decent ones in the grocery store. You have to go to a Polish bakery to get the real thing and try to find one of those now a days. )

I found some left over Mardi Gras beads in my craft closet so I will stand on our second floor landing and throw them over the banister to the children below. I know the kids will love that! There will be lots of pictures so this layout will come in handy and I'll need to make a few more in the near future.

The digital files for the layouts came from:
 http://jolezacreations.blogspot.com/
http://digitalphotobookpages.blogspot.com/2011/03/mardi-gras-mambo-free.html

Your next stop along the parade route is Anita. I hope you enjoyed my float and know that the next float will be phenomenal as well!!!

I finished up with some light and dark purple glitter glue from Studio g. I'm not for sure who makes the ribbon. Sorry.

Pink jute from My Life in Arts N Crafts Store.

Welcome to Challenge #6 - Anything Goes for Tsunami Rose.  Here is a peak at what I created using the beautiful journal papers from the new set entitled Parisian Daydream.

These digital papers are so beautiful that they are art within themselves and as I put this photo layout together I decided the papers were enough and that I only needed to add some glitter glue to the flowers and some rhinestones.

Please visit Tsunami Rose to see the full set of journal papers from Parisian Daydream and all of the other beautiful papers and journals.

Chalk N Stock February Challenge

Welcome back for another Chalk N Stock Challenge. This month's challenge is "Anything Goes" and I have a little inspiration for you.

I used chalk ink on all the panels on this card. I put a few drops on water on my chalk ink pad from Studio G and then ran my white card stock across the pad and this was the end result. I wish you could see it better. It has a fax suede look to it. The stamped words are done in dark brown chalk ink. I love the way chalk adds softness to your projects even with stamped words.

Here is looking straight down at the card so you can see the wording.

And one last view from an angle.

So get out those pastels and chalks and get to work. I look forward to seeing your creations over at the new Chalk N Stock challenge.

Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog

Use Red or Pink

Big news for all my Lorby's World fans... I am now on the the Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog. This is a challenge blog that is awesome and a great place to get your challenge on. I am so happy to be part of the new team!

Now on for our newest challenge: USE RED OR PINK

Use either red or pink or both on your project and we would love to have you enter it in this months challenge. Scrappy Frogs is a challenge blog featuring challenges of all different kinds to get your creative juices hopping and have some fun along the way. Challenges are posted every 3 weeks.Head over to Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog for all the rules and to link up.Wow!

Here is my inspiration for you:

I used my Nestibilities to cut and emboss the three top circles with hearts and then I found a freebie circle with design edge in an SVG so I used my Cricut to cut that out. The top three layers of paper is glossy paper with a design that I got with a photo album when I first started scrapbooking many moons ago so I can't tell you who makes it. Sorry. The under layer is just a white that I used my pink chalk stamp from Studio G to ink the edges. I also did the same on the inside.

The key is from my stamp collection from Fiskers and the pink embossing powder is from Recollections.

Head over to Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog and see all the projects that the design team has done. You truly will be inspired.

Thank you for stopping by today. Hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World.

Valentine's Mailbox/Treat Box Blog Hop

Valentine's Day is just two weeks away and we wanted to see what kinds of mailboxes, boxes, and bags you make to give those special people in your lives. Join us for some amazing Valentine's inspiration in plenty of time for that special day and those special treats.

This hop has two hostesses today: Me, Jearise from Lorby's World of Hops and Tee  We both have blog candy so make sure you stop at each place to find out how to win.

Blog Candy from Lorby's World

This is my prize package and if you take the cover off the heart box there is an extra treat inside...
Rhinestones and Pearls from Miram's Crafting Supplies.

Oooh you breath. How do I win these?
1. Become a follower of mine or let me know if you already are.
2. Tell me your favorite Valentine candy
3. Leave an email address where I can contact you if you win.

Also, two other crafty bloggers are offering blog candy so make sure to stop by Lynne from Her Craftiness and Jackie from Jack Rabbit Scrappin

Now on with the inspiration...

I kept changing my mine. First, I was going to use an SVG file I have to make a mailbox since the word mailbox is in the blog title. Then, I was going to Mod Podge a paper mache mailbox I bought this past week only to realize I wouldn't have enough time to get it done. That's when I found the latest release from The Cutting Cafe called Little Red Wagon Box. I fell in love...

The paper is from K & Company.
I used Ditto glimmer spray on the red sides to give it a gold glimmer and texture.
As you can see, the cute little boxes come out of the wagon and
each little box can hold a special little treat like Hersey Kisses.
The sentiment is also part of the Little Red Wagon Box set as well the sentiments I used on the prizes. The soft pink jute comes from My Life in Arts and Crafts.

If you would like to join us for future hops, please visit Lorby's World of Hops. P.S. No previous blog hopping experience needed. :)

Thanks for stopping by and please continue on to Tee's Blog..
