DT Monday for SVG Attic

Hi all.

I have taken the "Down on the Farm" set from SVG Attic and turned it into a cute birthday card. My 6 year old son liked it so much he asked if I would save it for his birthday and if he could now have a farm themed birthday part. We'll see but in the meantime let me share what I made and how I made it.

I took the barn from the set and down sized it to 6 inches and then I copied and pasted the identical barn right next to the first one. I then overlapped the two barns just slightly. I lost the one overhang on the barn roof but that's okay because the brown frame hangs over some when you glue it on so you don't notice.

I brought all the other parts into Sure Cuts A Lot and made sure they fit over the bard. I set all the other parts of the front of the barn at 6.00 inches for width.
I glued everything onto the red barn before gluing it onto the white cardstock because I had some cutting to do. I put the criss/cross pattern on the barn doors but then I had to use my x-acto knife to cut around the edges so the doors opened. I left a slight gap when gluing the criss/cross pattern on because I knew I would need to slice between the doors.
I found a great way to give ordinary paper some texture. I put on thin lines of Sctoch's quick drying glue and then rubbed it as it started to dry.
I cut my chicken at 1.250 inches so she's fit in the loft window.

I cut my cow at 2.130 inches in width. The word bubble is from the Sure Cuts A Lot program and it's shape library.
My cow was so small that I had to draw the inside of his ears and spots on.
Inside of the card.

Hope you enjoyed my farm themed birthday card as much as I enjoyed making it and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World.

DT Wednesday for SVG Attic

Hi this Jearise from Lorby's World and today I decided the Mad Hatter could do a little uptown Paris look so I brought out some of my favorite fancy paper and set to work. I love the bright flowers on the side of the hat.

I used the hat from the Mad Tea Party and the flowers came from the new 3D Spring Flowers set to make my fancy Mad Hatter hat.

Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to next time.

FIND ISABEL

On Friday night at 11 p.m., Isabel was tucked in her bed by her parents. On Saturday morning at 8 a.m., her parents went to wake her up but she wasn't there! Isabel had been kidnapped!

This sounds like the beginning of some mystery novel but it's not. It's actually what happened this past weekend and is still playing out here in Tucson, Arizona to a sweet, beautiful little first grader that attends Academy of Tucson.

We know Isabel is out there but we need your help. Please study the flyer carefully and as you go about your business today, look into the face of all the children you see and maybe one of them will be the beautiful face of Isabel. If so, call 911 or 88-crime immediately.

April Sketch Blog Hop

The purpose of this hop is to show how all of these talented bloggers can take the same sketch and come up with totally different cards. If you've never used a card sketch before, give it a try!

You should have arrived from Regina. If not, be sure to go back to the start at www.craftycardgallery.blogspot.com.

This month's design is...
I used this sketch to make a sympathy card for our neighbor who just recently lost his daughter.

I was suppose to use a ribbon in the background middle area but I didn't think it would look right. The sentiment was optional on the front so I stamped mine on the inside of the card. The sentiment came from Stampendous! Encouraging Words set.
I used the Celtic Knot Frame from the Celtic Knot Collection and the cross is from the Easter Elements collection of which both are from SVG Attic.

The paper is from K & Company and has a embossed design on it that you can see in this picture below.
Thank you for joining us on this blog hop and your next stop is Susan.

April Birthday Blog Hop - click here

Welcome to the Teacher Thank You Gifts Blog Hop ! You should have just come from Cely's Blog. If you're just joining us and wish to start from the beginning, please hop on over to Dena's blog . Teacher Appreciation Week this year begins on May 7th and ends on May 11th. If you're looking for some teacher thank you gift ideas, you've come to the right place! Each of the designers in today's hop is sharing a wonderful gift idea for a teacher. We hope you have fun hopping with us while picking up some great ideas!

I designed and made a notepad holder for my son's teacher.

This little box will hold a medium sized scribble pad from the Dollar Tree and you have enough room to add a pen or pencil too. I decided to add a curve cut out area so it would be easier to pull the pad of paper out.

I'm the end of the school line so thank you for stopping buy and don't forget to say "Thank you." to a teacher.

Hugs from Lorby's World

April Showers Bring May Flowers Blog Hop - Day 2

Welcome to the "April Showers Brings May Flowers" Blog Hop! This hop will showcase things that are all about spring so please sit back and relax and let this hop put you in a springtime mood where the sweet smelling cool rain gently wets the ground so the seeds poke their heads out and become beautiful flowers.

If you happened to stumble upon the hop here by chance, and want to start from the beginning, it all starts with Lissa at www.somanycrafts.com , this will take you through the entire hop of inspiration.
Be sure to give some love throughout, as each one has worked hard on their projects for you today..

I'm one of the hosts giving away blog candy. Become a follower and comment below, and you'll be eligible for the drawing. I have lots of stuff to pass on and didn't have time to take a picture but I will show all on the day of the drawing which will be April 10th.

What woman doesn't love a pretty purse and then when you add a pretty flower you have the Wow! factor going on. This purse is part of the svg file set: Pretty Purses from SVG Attic.
I added a note pad and pen and plan to give it to my daughter's teacher for teacher appreciation week.
The front of the purse has an extra pocket to put a thank you note in.

Thank you so much for joining us on our hop and we hope that sunshine and flowers are in your life everyday.

Hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World and now continue on to Lisa's Blog.

April Showers Brings May Flowers Blog Hop - Day 1

I would like to take a moment to wish Katheryn a speedy recovery and to let her know that I am thinking of her. She is the lady who started theses hops but due to unforeseen circumstances has been unable to continue them so some of us have taken on her task to show her how much we appreciate the work she has done.

The watering can is from SVG Attic's set titled Welcome Spring.

This paper watering can is just the right size for a small plant and to give as a birthday or thank you gift. I plan on giving it to my son's kindergarten teacher during teacher appreciation week.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my project and now continue on to Liz

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow and until then; Hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World.

SVG Attic DT Monday

Good Monday morning! Can you believe that's it's the last week before Easter? Thanks to SVG Attic you still have time so make something special for those little ones in your life. I got creative with a few sets from SVG Attic to make this adorable Easter basket lantern.

I used the files Summer Lanterns and Easter Elements.
I picked the cute bunny face and chick from the Easter Element file and I used my shadow feature  in Sure Cuts A Lot for the Sizzix eClips to make them big enough so they touched the window area. Then I used the combine feature to fuse them into the window area.
I cut them out at the sizes before I used the shadow feature and added the layers.
I used Peachy Keen Stamps for the faces but cut outs for the eyes and beak for the chick and eyes and nose for the bunny are included in the Easter Element file.
I used photo protectors for the clear windows to keep the candy from falling out.
Cute and Yummy!

Hop on over to SVG Attic for all your last minute hand made Easter decorations and surprises.

Hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World
