Mic---key---Mouse. Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse. Forever let us hold our banner high, hiGH, HIGH.

I just love Winnie the Pooh and even though he falls under Disney's Magic Spell of ownership, I still think of him and all his friends as their own special Pooh Bear Group. I remember looking forward to the Disney Winnie the Pooh specials on T.V. as a child and I still love watching the adventures of that silly ol' bear. That's why I've picked one of Pooh's special friends - Eeyore. People consider Eeyore to be gloomy but I like to think he is just over tolerant of the antics going on around him.

I used light blue cardstock for the card at an A2 size. Then I went digging in my paper stacks and ran across a bunch of paper I got in a magazine probably three years ago. You know, those "how to make a card" magazines from the U.K. that include paper, ribbon, and sketches. I must admit those were my humble scrap book/card making beginnings. I used paper from this for the two backgrounds behind Eeyore.

I found this adorable coloring page of Eeyore on line and copied if off on white cardstock and then I went to work with my Crayola colored pencils and Bic markers. I used the markers for outlining.

I dabbed Mod Podge on to give him a textured look and I used glitter Mod Podge for the balloon.

I used burgundy ribbon from Michael's (3/$1 bin)  I wrapped it all away around the card twice. I stamped the word "surprise" on the front and a balloon inside using burgundy ink from Colorbox. The stamps are from Joann's but I lost the plastic they came in so I don't know the make.

Thank you so much for hopping along these past few days. I've really enjoyed you visiting my blog and look forward to reading your comments. : )
There is going to be an overall grand prize sponsored by Lisa from Scrapping with Lisa and she will be the first and last stop in the lineup.  In order to qualify for the grand prize, you must leave a comment on every stop in the hop, including my facebook page. Mic---key---Mouse. Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse. Forever let us hold our banner high, hiGH, HIGH.

It took a Mickey Mouse blog hop to finally motivate me to scrap pictures from our Disney's Villians on Ice Show. We've been to two Disney on Ice shows and I know if Disney on Ice comes back to Tucson again, we'll be there.

I downloaded pictures from Disneyvillians.com and used Mod Podge and glitter around the edges of them. Some I only cut part of the picture to fit over my photos.

I used my Mickey Mouse Letter Cartridge from ProvoCut to cut out the words Disney on Ice. I used white card stock for the shadow feature and yellow card stock for the letters all set at 1 inch tall.  The little tag hold is made of white card stock and the cartridge Tags, Bags, and Boxes and I used blue and red Colorbox inks for inking.

I found another useful use for Liquid Pearls in buttercup; I used it for the corner frames for the pictures to make them stand out.

The background paper is a black silhouette of Mickey's head on red. I bought the paper at A.C. Moore in their loose leaf paper area. I cut it at 1/4 inch on each side and mounted it to dark blue 12 x 12  card stock.

I hope you've enjoyed my layouts and you are invited to leave a comment. It would be nice if you could be a follower also but not necessary and thank you so much for hopping along today.

Your next stop is  Jamie.

Paper Making Card

This spring, my children and I took on the task of making our own paper. We had so much fun doing it but it is messy. I cut the paper up into small enough sized to fit on card stock and then put it away. I dug a piece out the other day and made this card.

Card Stock - pre-folded cards from DCWV
Home Make paper - blender and home made paper kit from Amazon
Butterfly sticker - K & Company
Stamp - Fisker ???
Ribbon - Sheer Creations a Michael's exclusive
Ink - ColorBox (used on sediment)

I have more home made paper in different colors that I plan on using for future cards so stay tuned to see what is up my sleeve. Thanks for taking the time to look today and if you have any questions or comments, just head to my comment section or email me. : )

If you're coming from Arpil's blog, then you're heading in the right direction and need to continue on to  Kristy's blog and if you've gotten lucky and found mine by mistake, well I'm flattered but it's always nice to start from the beginning so you can head to the hostess's blog My Amusing Life.

I made some useful and cute back to school gifts for my children's teachers.

I was walking through Michael's and came across pre-painted mini-chalkboards in different shapes for $1 or $2 a piece so I grabbed a few

Cricut Cartridge "Locker Talk" for the apple and school and cut at 3 inches.

SRX Metallic Color Sharp for the wording.

I also made this little treat box for the teachers and filled it with Dove chocolate.

I wasn't going to feature this little box because to be honest, I can't remember where I found the school house box. But I like it so much, I just had to. Please let me know in my comments if you know where it came from. : )

Stamps: Heidi Grace designs 4 x 8 school
Ink: ColorBox
Markers: Bic
Clear Embossing Powder: a la Mode by Hampton Art

Thanks for looking and commenting. I just love to read comments. : ) I like new followers too if you're up to that. ; )

International Talk Like a Pirate Day Blog Hop

AHOY there me hearties,
welcome to the International Talk like a Pirate Day blog hop 19th September 2011 hosted by Captain Gill !

If ye has been sailin' the seven seas and landed on we shore, take a peak of we scrap book page or ye may be forced to walkin' the plank! Nar, we're not that mean of a pirate but we askin' for ye to stay a bit and sail from blog to blog to see what the other crafty pirates have in their blog chests.
The pirate on my layout is a free svg file from The Quilling Patch. I used ColorBox ink for the sand and water around the ship and all other outline accents. I drew the "X". The pirates adorable face comes from Peachy Keen Stamps.

I found a pirate ship PDF and traced it in Inkscape and cut it out on my Cricut using SCAL. It was the first time that I did the whole picture without converting. It took some time but I learned so much. The letters above the ship are the Cricut cartridge BlackLetters and the waves were a freebie svg file from SVGCuts.

In November of last year, I had a pirate party at my house for a mom's group I use to organize. We did pirate crafts, ate pirate food and went on a treasure hunt for "Gold" Fish. The pictures show what I and the other little pirates were up to.

It's time for ye to set sail again and see what other treasures are awaitin' for ye at the other blogs.

Airplane Quilt

Today I would like to show off a beautiful airplane themed quilt. A very close friend of ours and Godmother to my youngest made this beautiful quilt.

Her husband loves planes and my little guy loves planes so the plane design is perfect.

Isn't it exquisite!

Owls baby shower invies

I have a close friend who is expecting a baby in the near future and I volunteered to do the baby shower invites. Her theme is owls and so my hunt began. I found so many adorable owls but was looking for a specific pair. I thought I had finally found the best I could when I came across the file "Give a Hoot" over at SVG Attic

Take a look at how cute these little invites turned out:

Thanks for visiting my world today.

God Bless American - 9/11/2001 Remebered

Welcome to a blog hop devoted to the remembrance of the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11th. There are ten of us blog friends who have joined talents to bring you our own special ways of remembering the day that changed the United States of America and the rest of the World forever.

If you have happened here by chance, please continue on to Tami our hostess and the beginning of this very special and personal blog hop.

"Exhibit 13" is the last song on the Blue Man Group's album The Complex. The song's title comes from a scorched piece of paper which blew into the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York on September 11, 2001 immediately after the attacks on the World Trade Center. The audio inter-cut, in the song, is a recitation of the contents of other documents found in that same park. (Wikipedia) Please click on and listen to the video as you scroll through this blog that remembers those who died on 9/11 - 10 years ago today.

We will never forget!
Where were you on 9/11?

I wanted to use a white background to make the pictures stand out and then the blue inked boarder and red inked background with the red photo frames just happened and it looked better having all three of the colors that stand for America.

I picked the colored paper because as I stared at the pictures from that awful day, drab colors kept entering my mind. Drab colors that looked like the buildings as they became rubble and a bare space on the ground left by a plane.

Here is what I typed up in the middle of my layout.

My layout is a history for my children and my great-grand children and hopefully my great-great grandchildren.

God bless American.

If you get lost along the way, here is the lineup:

Tami, our blog hostess, will be giving away blog candy....all related to the Red, White, and Blue.  Please leave Tami a comment of where you were the morning of 9-11-2001.  Also, leave her a way to contact you please.

Let's Celebrate Grandparents

Grandparents day is celebrated September 11 of 2011 and I have been invited by Bobbie Jo at Sweet Sassy Diva to create something special for this special holiday.

I love mini-picture frames and making the fancy mats that go in them so I decided to work with this. I thought back to my grandmother and how she meant so much to me and was such a colorful person and that's when everything fell into place.

I used a 4 x 6 inch frame and cardstock from two different pads: DCWV Cotton Bloom Stack and s.e.i's Mimosa's stack. The neon green that I used for the shadowing of the flourish and the word "Grandma" is plain cardstock from Recollections.

I used my wonderful Gypsy for all my pieces. The word "Grandma" and it's shadow come from Gypsy Font. I did the shadow first and KE'd it at -12 and then went back and took the shadow effect off and didn't KE it.

I've found that using a tweezers and quick dry glue are the way to go when putting the letters on the shadow.
I used Accent Essentials for my flourish and mat. The mat will hold a 2 x 3 inch photo leaving a nice little frame.

The inches are wrong for the mat in the picture. I had to unlink them and set the width at 3.50 inches and the height at 2.50 inches.
The flourish and it's shadow were done at 1.50 inches for height and I kept the measurements linked.

The stamp "You're simply the Best!" comes from Inkadinkado's Kathy Davis designs #97608 and I used the olive green ink from ColorBox Petal Point Classic Pigment inkpad #08013 - Provence. I inked the mat, and shadows for Grandma and the flourish. I finally used a la mode clear embossing powder on my words.
