Sweet Cards & Decadent Desserts Blog Hop

Go here for the Black, White and a Splash of Color Hop.
Go here for the Valentine Cards for Cancer Patients.

Welcome to the Sweet Cards and Decadent Desserts Blog Hop!  You should have just come from Nicolette's Blog.  If you are just joining the hop and wish to start from the beginning, please visit Dena's blog.   The complete blog hop lineup is at the bottom of this post.

Each blogger participating in this hop is featuring a Valentine's Day card for someone special in their life, whether it be a husband, boyfriend, child, friend, teacher, parent, etc ...  Each participant is also posting a recipe for a decadent dessert that you might want to make for someone sweet in your life!

This is a two-day blog hop with some participants posting projects on both days.  So, please be sure to stop by tomorrow also!

For my two youngest children's birthday this year I made these wonderful cupcakes called Delmation  cupcakes because you have chocolate chips and white cream cheese. They were such a hit that I thought I would make a batch and hand them out to the neighbors for Valentine's Day. I changed the recipe a bit to make it go with Valentine's Day better.
The card is an easel card and I got the directions on how to use it over at Split Coast Stampers. I thought I would be different and make it kid like since I am handing this Valentines and cupcakes to neighbors (friends).

I designed the cupcake toppers in Inkscape.

Here is a picture of the inside of one of the cupcakes. I used red velvet cake mix and I bought mini-chocolate chips.
The chocolate melted together more than expected otherwise the middle has a pink color to it. I added food coloring to the white frosting.

Valentine Chocolate Chip filled Cupcakes
1 pkg. red velvet cake mix plus ingredients on the back of the package which should include 3 eggs, oil and water

Middle Filling
1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese - softened
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup mini chocolate chip

Prepare cake mix as directed. Mix together cream cheese, egg, vanilla, and sugar. Add Chocolate chips to cream cheese filling. Line 24 cupcake tins with paper liners. Place about 1 LARGE tablespoon of cake batter into each liner. Then place 1 teaspoon of filling into each liner. Top with more cake batter. Bake at 375 degrees for about 25 minutes.

I know if you try this simple but taste bud pleasing recipe you'll have guests asking for more. Let me know if you try it and what you think. I love visitors and comments on my site. :)

Please hop on over toJamie's Blog next to see what she has to share with you!
