Before the holidays, I discovered that Creative Kuts has these fun week projects that you can do and showcase your work on their Creative Kuts Facebook site. I got in on a few and would like to share what I've done.
This was the mug gift card holder. I had to add the foam on top since I like whipped cream on my flavored coffee. Yum!
The one week they had this adorable shaker snowman pattern. You layer the pattern so you can put glitter in his tummy and shake the snow out of him. There is white glitter in his tummy. Shake, shake, shake...shake his tummy.
Aren't these snowflakes just beautiful! I had so much fun showing friends how to do these during the holidays.
Creative Kuts is still doing these weekly fun craft projects but you have to head to their facebook page to find out what it is for each week. They usually start the project on Sunday or Monday so don't wait to the middle of the week or you'll be too late to get in on the fun!
Thanks for stopping by today and Hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World.

elepahants and baby showers
A close friend of mine is expecting and I was asked to design the baby shower invites. What an honor! Her theme is elephants so that sent me on a quest to find the right elephants to go with the idea floating around in my head. Thanks to SVG Cuts and their weekly free file, I found the perfect elephant.
I had some left over elephants so I made cupcake toppers.
The background paper on the cards is from the Nursery Collection by Debbie Mum.

SVG attic gift card holders
Aren't these little gift card holders adorable? They are so useful the whole year through and the svg files for them are available at SVG attic. I made mine with Christmas in mind but you can use these for anniversaries or birthdays also. They are cut from the file
While the adorable little snow girl came from the file:
I cut each box at different settings so one is bigger than the other. The settings for the smaller box which go with the Sizzix, eClips and eSCAL are: outside cut W 5.286 inches and H 9.130 inches; inside cut W 4.325 inches and H 6.727 inches; inside tag W 4.069 and H 7.579 and the bottom, middle and stamp area are W 2.422 and H 1.211 with the rosette being cut at W 3.00 by 11.250. I used only two strips for my rosette but I would break apart the strips and add a third one next time. Here are move views of the boxes...
The bigger box not only holds the gift card but also the cardboard backing it is attached to.
The small box just holds the gift card.
Both files are available at SVG attic
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Jearise in Lorby's World.

SVG Attic - Monday's Project
Don't you love the holidays with the parties, gift exchanges, and cookie exchanges? The holidays are always an excuse for me to bake and hand out goodies to neighbors and friends and I found the cookie box from the set "Cookies for Santa" at SVG Attic is perfect for my yummy treats.
There is an insert you can make to keep your cookies separated but I was using those cute little cupcake holders for my cookies so I didn't make and add them.
I cut the box bottom at 11.25 inches and the box top at 11.30 inches so I would have a little extra sizing so the top fits easier on the bottom. I also added an extra cardstock bottom insert for extra support.
I found that the acetate photo holders for scrapbooks work great for the see through windows for these type of boxes and the photo holders aren't that expensive and you can use a coupon on them at most craft stores that have weekly coupons.
I love this star! It is from the set "O Christmas Tree." I cut it out a little bigger than I expected so I went back with my craft scissors and put a pretty edging on it. I used gold embossing powder too.

This was my final project full of yummys for my cookie exchange. There is an extra band that goes around the window but I decided since I was using the star that I didn't need the band on this box but I know I will be adding it to my next one since I have already picked out the cardstock.

The past four years I have invited friends over to do Christmas crafting with me. It's sort of a tradition now that the night begins with the making of a pair of earrings. We've made snowmen, angels and this year bows.
Then we made cards, tags, felt ornaments and a decorated a box...
but the most fun but also the hardest project we did was make these snowflake ornaments. I was surfing the web the night before and came across a video on how to do them. I tried one and it seemed easy enough until I had to explain it to others. I kept holding the paper wrong when I would cut it so it would always be cut at a wrong angle. Everyone jumped in and with laughter in the air, we were able to figure it out. Here are two of them.

SVG Attic File for Monday - O Christmas Tree
Good Monday Morning!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and had time to check out SVG Attic's "Gifts from the Heart" blog hop. There were some wonderful stories and projects to see.
There is a December challenge also going on over on the SVG Attic blog. You can create ANYTHING using ANY SVG Attic files but you must include at least one element from SVGAttic.com and use at least two of the colors listed below. Be sure to check out the Christmas and Winter collections. Get creative, think outside the box, and have fun! Your colors for the challenge: Red/Green/Pink/Blue/White
Jessica, the creative mind behind SVG Attic introduced a new SVG file last week entitled "O Christmas Tree." I love it! I tried only one of the two trees in it but have to say I am already hooked. The unique design of this tree makes it the perfect centerpiece for your holiday table setting.
This is the CHRISTMAS TREE DECORATION from the file. I used DCWV Christmas stack from last year that has a blueish green design on it.
I placed an acrylic color changing Christmas tree light I bought a few years back but a flameless candle would work as well.
This file is a file you'll want to add to your SVG collection because "O Christmas Tree" not only has the Christmas Tree Decoration tree but it has a beautiful layered tree call the "Noble Fir" and it also comes with a gift card holder svg file and "Tree Gift Box" svg file and right now use coupon code FREE at checkout on orders $9.98 or more and get "O Christmas Tree" free. Head on over to SVG Attic and check it out!
Have a great week!
Hugs,

Last year I started a tradition of taking baked goods around to the neighbors on Christmas morning. My mother-in-law taught me how to make scones a few years ago so I make scones as my neighborhood gift now.
This year I have taken the gingerbread man from the file "Cookies For Santa" and I have modified him so to become a recipe holder. Directions on how to make him are at the end of the pictures.
I have little slits to stick the 3 x 5 notecards in.
This is a side view so you understand how he can lay flat.
The cards can store behind him as you put him away in his envelope.
Directions
Gingerbread Man
cut out gingerbread man at w: 11.790 by H: 7.099
cut out gingerbread man at w: 11.790 by H: 7.099
Make a circle cut at .075 in and fold in half. You can use one of the shapes from the Sure Cuts A Lot pre programmed forms.
Fold the circle in half and place it and trace it where you will use an x-acto knife to cut the rounded slits to hold your recipes.
Easel Stand
Cut cardstock into a 2 x 8 in strip and crease in at 1 inch on each end and then 3 more inches from 1 inch line. Crease 3 inch area in half (1 1/2 in) and that makes easel stand.

Welcome to Round Two of the Christmas Cards & Cookies Blog Hop! You should have come from Lynda B-J's blog. If you are starting here and wish to hop from the beginning of the hop, please visit Dena’s blog . There was so much response to the Christmas Cards & Cookies Blog Hop that it had to be split between two weekends. Round One was held last weekend. Round Two is this weekend, beginning on Saturday, Dec. 10th, through Sunday, Dec. 11th. We have a talented group of women who love papercrafting and baking. Each of them is sharing a recipe for a yummy Christmas treat along with a Christmas card or tag. Hopefully, you’ll pick up some great ideas for your own Christmas gift giving this season. So, grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy!
Simple Scone and Cranberry-Orange Jelly Recipe
My mother-in-law introduced me to homemade scones a few years back. They aren't hard like the ones you get at the coffee shop and the homemade ones have much better flavor especially if you add my sauce to them.I have to admit that I found this recipe on Allrecipes.com awhile back and I like it better than any I have found in the cook books I have and I have lots and lots of cook books. ; )
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
|
8 tablespoons unsalted butter, frozen
1/2 cup raisins (or dried currants)
1/2 cup sour cream
1 large egg
|
Directions:
1. | Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position and preheat oven to 400 degrees. |
2. | In a medium bowl, mix flour, 1/3 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Grate butter into flour mixture on the large holes of a box grater; use your fingers to work in butter (mixture should resemble coarse meal), then stir in raisins. |
3. | In a small bowl, whisk sour cream and egg until smooth. |
4. | Using a fork, stir sour cream mixture into flour mixture until large dough clumps form. Use your hands to press the dough against the bowl into a ball. (The dough will be sticky in places, and there may not seem to be enough liquid at first, but as you press, the dough will come together.) |
5. | Place on a lightly floured surface and pat into a 7- to 8-inch circle about 3/4-inch thick. Sprinkle with remaining 1 tsp. of sugar. Use a sharp knife to cut into 8 triangles; place on a cookie sheet (preferably lined with parchment paper), about 1 inch apart. Bake until golden, about 15 to 17 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes and serve warm or at room temperature. |
Cranberry/Orange Zest Sauce
1 can cranberries ( not the jellied ones)
1 medium orange, zested
1/2 cup sugar (put a few Tablespoons to the side to dust tops of scones with)
1 cinnamon stick
Combine all ingredients in a pan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
Serve hot or cold over scones
I modified a card using the "Cookies for Santa" gingerbread file from SVG Acttic and if you want the details on how to make this card, please just click on the link HERE.

Here is today's project:
I made this adorable ornament gift bag using the file "Holiday Cheer Gift Boxes." The wreath on the outside came from the file "All the Trimmings."
I handmade some ornaments to go inside.
Now my story...
I have lived in Tucson, AZ for the past 7 years. I felt like a fish out of water until I had my youngest two children and joined a mom's play group. I became very close to the moms in the group and even now that our children are in different schools we are still very close and get together on weekends with the kids and during the summer.
I started, while in the mom's group, having Christmas get togethers just for the moms at my house. Each year we would get together to make jewelry or crafts. I am doing this again this weekend but with a heavy heart. My hubby took a job in Austin, TX and we'll be moving there in the near future. I would usually be packed up and out the door before my husband knew what was going on but this time it is so hard to go since I have become so close to these ladies. I will miss them dearly.
Tomorrow at our Mom's Night In I will be having drawings for various crafty things and my special bag and ornaments will be going home with one of my very close and dear friends.
Your next stop is Corri's blog
Thank you for stopping by tonight and don't forget to come back tomorrow evening to see what I've created and to read another story of Gifts From The Heart.

Bread Basket into Cookie Basket
Click HERE for the Secret Sister Blog Hop
This past Friday my daughter celebrated her birthday with her class by having mom bring in a treat. I made raspberry chocolate chip cookies and then I decided I needed something fancy to deliver them so I warmed up the computer and the eClips and opened up my SVG Attic file and found the perfect thing.
I used the bread box from Holly's Holiday Boxes which you can buy at SVG Attic. Didn't this bread box turn into the perfect cookie box? My daughter and all the little girls in her class loved it.
Join me next Monday to see how I use the wonderful files from SVG Attic and don't forget about the SVG Attic blog hop this coming Friday and Saturday, December 9th and 10th.
Happy Monday from Jearise in Lorby's World.
