Today I am going to give a tutorial for Miriam's Crafting Supplies on how to fussy cut. If you're new to the crafting world, you might have heard this phrase and wondered what it was or how to people get their stuff to fussy cut? It's actually quite easy but time consuming if you're in a hurry but so worth it when you're done.
I first had to find a pad of paper that I liked with something to cut out. I used g.c.d.'s Antiquities that I bought on clearance.
I decided I wanted to use the flowers on this page for my card so I grabbed my small scissors and my craft knife and started cutting.
The scissors you are looking for need to have short, sharp blades for detail cutting. There are a few brands out there but one of the ones that most crafters use is by Cutter Bee. Use these to do the main cutting and then use the craft knife to cut the intricate parts once you are done.
This is what the fussy cut looks like when you are done cutting:
Now for my card I decided to use my favorite adhesive and gloss - Mod Podge. I love to Mod Podge things down and this cut is the perfect thing for it. I just Mod Podege the flowers I cut out right to the card stock.
I continued by adding the other flowers and designed and my little fairy to the card - all with Mod Podge.
I coated both sides of the fussy cut images with Mod Podge but I didn't the fairy.
I'm sure you will agree that this card is cute but missing something and that something is some of the different colored and sized half pearls from Miriam's Crafting Supplies.
I sprayed a hint of glimmer mist on the card before adding the half pearls. Click on the link to visit her store and see all her great crafting products at some of the best prices around - Miriam's Crafting Supplies.
And thank you for stopping by and saying HI!

Thinking of You for Cutter's Creek
I joined one of Kim's 6 x 6 paper pad clubs and I have to say that the paper we get each month is AWESOME and so much fun to play with and with that being said I will show you the card I made using the 6 x 6 "The Sweetest Thing" pad from My Minds Eye.
As I flipped though the pad I found the background paper for this card and I utilized both sides for the background of the card. I just flipped over the strip of paper I had left over and ran it through my Cuddlebug to emboss it. The numbers came from another page from the book and when I saw the "1" with the "One of a Kind" saying I knew I had to use it. I was going to stamp "Thinking of You" but this is so much better.
I wanted to add a splash of color and really like the way the yellow and pink worked together. Who would have guessed? I took one of my paper roses and spritzed it with my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in pink. Here is a close up so you can see the glimmer.
Other things I used from Cutter's Creek to make this sweet card:
Scatch Quick-Dry Adhesive
ATG gun by Scotch
Scotch Pop Up Foam Squares
Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye
Inkssentials Ink Blending Foam
Thank you so much for stopping by today and until next time....

I drew this digital stamp and made this card in honor of my left handed daughter. We had to do some searching to find where the gene comes from. I guess it is from my side of the family and is only passed on to the girls. Pretty neat story just like my daughter is pretty neat little leftie.
I used my chalks to color the digital stamp and the background.
Bad Poetry Day
This card is brought to you by my teenager, thought it was funny to get me a card a few years back with this poem on it. Now it's my turn...
Inside saying
I think I'll give him this card on the first of day of school. I usually send the kids with a homemade card their first day back.
Just Because Day
I made this card just because I love the little flying elf/fairy. I colored him a year ago when I first got my alcohol markers and then I just put him aside.
This little guy is going to sail into my youngest son's life on the first day of school just because I love my littlest man so much.

Shadow Box for Cutter's Creek and Auction
Today I would like to present a shadow box I made that is going to be auctioned off this weekend. A little girl in our school is fighting for her life due to cancer and the community has come together to help the family emotionally and financially and this was one the ways I thought I could help out. I love making shadow boxes and just adding the 3D effects that make it all come together.
I didn't add the frame for this picture because I was getting a glare from the glass. Here are a close up of my flowers.
I used the Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge to make the flowers. Please email Kim if you are interested in this great cartridge. I then used Perfect Pearls Mists in Heirloom gold to spritz the flowers.
This is where your journaling can be written or you can stamp a sentiment here.
I used CUTTLEBUG 5X7 Embossing Plus-Fanciful Labels to cut out the label and then I lifted the flap and used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye to ink the raised part.
The center paper where the photo goes is from the 6 x 6 Authentique bundle which was one of the pads that I received in Kim's 6 x 6 paper pad club. Please email Kim if you're interested in future clubs.
Here is the final picture with the frame on.
I used an Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber in gold to paint the outside of my plain black frame and give it an antique look.
I also used my ATG gun to adhere the photo area and tag to the background paper and I used Glue Dots to adhere the flowers.
Bye for now! Jearise

Chalk N Stock August Challenge
Do you like to use chalk ink or just chalk in your artwork? If so, please head over to Chalk N Stock and join their August Challenge.
Here is my design team inspiration for the month.
I used Color Box chalk ink for the edges of my layers but I used regular chalk pallets to color my digital stamp. I used them for everything on the digital stamp except the shoes and hair.
I used Tim Holtz distress markers to color in the Hello too.
Hope this offered some inspirations for this month's challenge and I look forward to see what you come up with and how you use chalk in your project.

Join us this month at Scrappy Frog's Challenge where our August theme is Going to the Fair.
I have some inspiration here today for you but I changed my topic a little and instead of the fair, my family is off to the circus. We started going a few years ago to the Ringling and Barnum and Baily Circus when it would come to Tucson and now since we've moved to Austin we have gone to the Shriner's Circus. The kids and I are circus crazy and give me a circus any day over an expensive and hot fair. Not that I don't have fond memories of the county fair in Michigan where I grew up, but now that we are city folk, I find the circus more to our liking.
So here you go - a circus layout.
I used Gaphic 45 paper and punch outs for this layout. The buttons are from Miriam's Crafting Supplies.
I hope this has given you some inspiration and now to join this month's challenge head to Scrappy Frog's blog.
