Rustic Halloween Blog Hop with the My Life in Arts n' Craft DT

Welcome to the My Life in Arts n' Crafts Rustic Halloween Blog Hop,

Ever Notice how glittery Halloween has gotten commercially, Not that I don’t love Glitter like the next crafter out there. Way back when, when Halloween was new it was very Earthy and Rustic. So today my lovely designers and my self are taking Halloween Old school. No Glitter, No Bright colors. Halloween like how it’s suppose to be rustic and earthy, and maybe a little spooky.

Today Jessi, from My Life in Arts n' Crafts,  will be giving away 3 bundles of your choice of colors of the Jute. So head over and pick out your colors. You’ll want to make sure you’re a follower of all the blogs in the hop, as well as commenting on each. Make sure to leave contact info on your comment as well.

For my project today I used the very versatile jute in natural and purple. CLICK ON PICTURES TO ENLARGE AND GET SEE MORE DETAIL.
The imagine is from a Tim Holz paper pack and the embossing on both layers are also embossing folders from Tim Holz.

Now for my second project where I used the twine in orange and black.
I wish the colors of the twine had turned out better because the twine works so well with this image. You have to head to My Life in Arts n’ Crafts store and check out all their jute and twine. It works so well for any project.

Now please continue on to Lissa Maria's blog.

First Guest Designer Today

I am so excited for two specific reasons: First, I have my first official guest designer and second, she used one of my svg files I created. How exciting is that?!?

Lynne of Her Craftiness is my designer today and she used my Little Miss Spider SVG file to make this adorable card. She did a sweet job on the spider and the colors are creative. Please head over to Her Craftiness to get all the details on how she made this card and to give her some blog love.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World.

Pirate Blog Hop

Yohoho mateys and welcome to the Pirate Blog hop in honor of "Talk like a pirate day" today. Captain Lorby, that's me, is head of these here ships and the captain of this ship and ye would be starting ur hopping aboard me vessel. My mateys have worked hard getting their ships in tip top shape for this hop so ye better stop by and see what they have done or someone along the way may make ye walk the plank. So grab ye eye patch and your best bottle of coffee, tea, or water and let's do some pirate hopping and talking.

Our Blog Candy for this event is a digital pirate stamp from Captain Lorby. To be in the drawing for the digital stamp, you must comment on ALL blogs and become a follower of Lorby's World.

Ahoy matey, here is me project for this hop.

I did two projects. The first project I used the digital stamp above but in SVG format. I used my eclips to cut it out.

For my second project, I used another digital stamp I created. I colored the ship with my Promarkers and made a easel card.

I found this fish button I had and thought it would be the perfect touch since the ship is in the ocean.
I embossed the background and used black and blue ink to give the background an old feel.

I thank ye for stopping by me ship and now ye is to journey on to L. Miriam ship.

Here is the complete line up in case you get lost or find a broken link. Enjoy!

My Life in Arts n' Crafts DT Tuesday

I have to admit - I have Halloween on the brain already and it's only the beginning of September but I figure if I don't start designing now, I won't be done in time. Has happened many a time before.

I used one of my die cutting files to make this coffin and then I used the mardarin (orange) and charcoal (black) twine to wrap it up. The twine gives it the perfect Halloween touch and this little box will be full of goodies so the twine is perfect to keep what is inside, inside.

Head over to My Life in Arts n' Crafts to see these great twine colors and all the other rainbow twine colors they offer.

Fall in Love with Fall Blog Hop - Wreaths

Hello and if you're looking for my design team project for scrapping with Lisa, please click here.

You're reached your final stop on the Fall in Love with Autumn Blog Hop and I know you've probably got a million ideas running through your head now. This hop has been awesome with so many cute and beautiful wreaths. I just love it!

If you didn't get to start from the beginning, then please click on Lluvia aka misses crafty's link.

Don't forget the give away before you exit stage right today.  The grand prize is a $20.00 gift card to Michaels or Joanns! You choose! The rules are as follows; you must become a follower of each blog and leave a comment on every stop. Winner will be selected on 9-17-12.

Here is my wreath. I love sunflowers. They grew wild back in Michigan along the side of the dirt roads. The birds would drop the seeds as they would fly overhead and up would come a sunflower.

When we moved to Arizona, I was so homesick for seasons especially fall and spring and I missed my wild fall sunflowers. My father was still alive and living with us and he would feed the birds each day and before summer was over, up came a small sunflower under the tree where the birdfeeder hung. Who would have guessed in the heat of Arizona? It thrived and grew for that first summer and made me feel at home so in honor of a wonderful past memory and now once again I've moved recently to a new home but in Austin, TX this time, I have made a wreath with sunflowers.

I bought the grapevine wreath from Michael's this week for $2.99 and the sunflower bunch was on sale 50% off too. I had a 50% off coupon burning a hole in my pocket so I bought a Bowdabra and ribbon was on sale too! I'm debating on it I like the bow I made. The color of the bow matches the center of the flower but it's hard to see so I may trade out my bow later on. Let me know what you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you'll stop by in the future to see what I'm up to. Hugs from Lorby's World.

DT Friday for Scrapping with Lisa

Hi everyone...If you're looking for the Fall in Love with Fall Blog Hop, click here.

I really am suppose to have my DT project done on Thursdays for Scrapping with Lisa but life got in the way so I am off a day.

I decided to take one of the dollar frames from Michaels and have some Halloween fun with it. I wish I could have gotten some better pictures.

I used the Toadally Love Halloween file to make my adorable little frog and the title on the frame.

I used green glitter glue and bling for the hat and then I also use Tim Holz orange distress Stickles on the belly of my frog.
I added a shadow background to my words to make them stand out more.
I used black paint as the base and then sponged orange on top and once it was dry I added glitter Mod Podge. I wish you could see the glitter better. My youngest son came up with the idea of adding the bling and so he helped me figure out the pattern to use.

This cute Halloween froggy file and it's words are available at Scrapping with Lisa Designs.

Chocolate Blog Hop

Next to diamonds, chocolate is a girl's best friend and in some cases it may even rank higher than diamonds. This hop takes some neat approaches to chocolate so I hope you can take the time to hop through and see how these crafters expressed their love of chocolate.

You will start here but make sure you make it all the way to the end because Tee at One Scrap at a Time is giving away two files from The Cutting Cafe to one lucky winner. Tee will have all the details on how to sign up for the drawing when you arrive at her blog.

So get your box of hidden chocolate and enjoy the hop...

Originally, this hop was going to be a hop with a twist. Instead of creating something with chocolate as in candy, the participants were asked to create something in shades of brown but as time went on and people's creative juices started flowing, the idea of chocolate as in candy seems more yummy for most so that's the way it seems to be going now but I'm not for sure so make sure to hop all the way through and find out. I decided to stick to the original plan but to add the chocolate candy idea after seeing the wonderful blog hop button my friend Lynne made for me so I created my own digital stamp: a box of chocolates.

Then to add to the mix, I realized the day before the hop that the hop was on my 13th wedding anniversary so I thought the card needed a masculine touch so I could give it to hubby today.

Here is what I came up with...

Recipe:
paper is K&Company Sweet Nector
embossed with Tim Holz Sizzix Grid Lock
natural jute is from My Life in Arts n' Crafts
candy box digital stamp - my creation

Thank you for coming today and now on to L. Miriam.

DT Tuesday and Remembering 9/11

Good Tuesday morning.

I get to show off my creation for My Life in Arts 'n Crafts on a very memorable day - September 11th. In honor of this special day and the chaos that struck our world that day, I have made a card of healing.

We are a nation who is still grieving but is also healing and realizing the terror we see on television each night around the world can come to our home too.  It's sad that such hatred exist in this world but it always has since the beginning of time. I feel that by showing love for each we can bring peace, maybe not to the whole world now but maybe some day.... We are a land built on freedom and acceptance and forgiving.

Peace be with you.

I used twine in Maraschino (Red) and Denim (Blue).

Krazy Crafting Crew's Autumn Colors - day 2

Welcome to the Krazy Crafting Crew's monthly hop. This month's theme is "Autumn Colors." Our creative crew has been busy creating beautiful and fun projects with the colors of autumn so please take a hop through to see their projects and to leave a comment of encouragement.

Our hostess for this hop is Lissa Marie and the blog to begin with. She will have the full line up posted in case you began in the middle of the hop or find a broken link.

We also have a special sponsor - Scrapbook Stamp Society and they want to reward one special blog visitor with a prize from their store. To be qualified for their drawing, please comment on all participating blogs and let them know you have.
You can receive extra entries for following them on Face Book and for commenting on the Scrapbook Stamp Society blog.

For our second day's project, I designed a teapot and rooster. I am all of a sudden into those rooster images from the 1960's and so I had to create one to go on the teapot I also created but this teapot has more to offer than just this picture....

It's a teapot box so you can put a gift in it or dried flowers. My goal was to have dry fall colored flowers but I drove around the other day and couldn't find any to save me so it has to be pictured empty for now. Boo.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and now please continue on to Lisa's blog.

Halloween Spectacular Banners for Special Needs Children

Welcome to the annual Halloween Spooktacular Banner Hop for Special Needs Children!
I am delighted to join with more than 3 dozen other women who have each made at least one Halloween-themed banner that will be donated to hang in the room of a medically-fragile child at Pediatric Specialty Care in Pennsylvania.

Our Hop Hostess (Ellen CardMonkey Jarvis) works at PSC’s Bucks County site as Admissions Coordinator. The Banner Hop starts there, so please be sure to circle back to the beginning to see all of the terrific banners have been made for these very special children.

Ellen shared this information with us about Pediatric Specialty Care: “PSC is a very special place where children stay either long- or short-term, typically after hospitalization.  Most are dependent on ventilators and other technology to survive. Some have been born too early or with genetic diseases or birth injuries.  Other children suffer injuries later in life that require constant care later, including brain injuries from trauma or loss of oxygen (from choking, suffocation or drowning) and spinal cord injuries.

These children and their families -- and PSC’s staff -- will be thrilled to receive the Halloween banners, to help brighten the season when their friends and siblings will be out trick-or-treating.”
Here is the banner I am sending to a child at PSC:

Here is a close up of the owl. Each image is dimensional and has some glitter.
My daughter saw what people were doing and thought it was such a great idea to help children that she wanted to make a banner too. She would like her banner to go to a girl but said if it goes to a boy, that's fine too.

Paper is DCVW
Halloween Twine is from Divine Twine
Catridge is Halloween and Scaredy Cat for the eClips.

Here images come from Pink Cat Stamps and she colored them herself. The cat has bangs and a bow that Antasha added to it.

This Hop is two days (Saturday, September 1 and Sunday, September 2), and on each day you will see different banners. Be sure to visit on both days to see the truly inspirational work of these generous bloggers, and leave some love (comments) on as many sites as you can – because if you do, you can up your chances to win some Spooktacular blog candy, including from these sponsors:

Madge's Scrappin' Lounge is donating a $25 gift certificate to her store at http://madgesscrappinlounge.storenvy.com/!

It's a Wild Life Blog Hop

Welcome to the wildlife blog hop where we step outside and into nature to create. I hope you enjoy what we have to offer today.

Our hostess for this hop is Gill and her blog is the place to begin.

We have a wonderful sponsor today also. Stitchy Bear Stamps which will give this collab to one lucky  winner.
For those who don't know what is a collab. It's one image from every Designer at Stitchy Bear Shop.

Here is my project:

I made a back to school card for my son. I like to make cards for the first day of school for my kiddos to give them encouragement on their first day back and this year they are attending new schools so it's even more nerve racking for them.

I used my eClips and the "Boy and Girl" cartridge. I also used my Cuddlebug to emboss the background.

Thanks for stopping by and now please continue on to Katherine's blog.

Karzy Crafting Crew's Autumn Hop

It's a Wild Life Blog Hop Link

Here is my fall colored layout. I used DCWV fall stack for the tree. I love the paper with the leaves printed on it. I designed the tree and the picture frame myself. The picture frame has leaves around the outside and I colored the cutout areas with my Bic markers once I glued the frame down and then I used the cut out leaves to scatter around the tree.

Thank you so much for stopping by today (INSERT ON DAY 1: and don't forget to return for day two tomorrow with another wonderful autumn project.) Now please continue on to Lisa's blog.
