Christmas Joy Layout using SVGAttic files

Click for  GIRLIE GIRL BLOG HOP

Please I am just so excited this morning! Why, you ask? I am one of the newest members of the design team for SVGAttic. I love their files and they work great on both my Cricut Expression and my Sizzix eClips. The newest version of SCAL (eSCAL) which is for the eClips, arrived on my doorstop on Monday.

The December challenge at SVG attic is asking that us crafters get creative with the colors: red/green/pink/blue and white. Head over to SVG attic see all the rules and to get in on the fun!

Here is my design team project...

The lovely ornaments and snowflakes come from the ALL THE TRIMMINGS at SVG attic. There is even an adorable penguin and a drum-a-rum-rum in the set plus more.

Bazzill cardstock in purple for the background
K&Company Wintertide paper for the ornaments, words, and second layer of the snowflakes
DCWV premium glitter stack was used for the top layer of the snowflakes which were cut at 4 inches, 3.5 inches, and 3 inches
Words "Christmas Joy" were TTF Frenchscript which I welded together in Inkscape and cut at 2 inches.

Stickles glitter was used for the middle of each snowflake and the design in each corner of each page
ColorBox ink in gold was used for the ornament top and around the outside edges of each ornament.
Thank you for stopping by today and if you have any questions or comments, please leave them. I love to hear from my followers and friends.

Nicole's FIERCE, FABULOUS AND FORTY Blog Hop

Welcome all to Nicole's FIERCE, FABULOUS AND FORTY Blog Hop. There are so many talented ladies joining the party. The wonderful women in this hop were asked to make anything related to the theme - cards, banners, scrap layouts, posters, bulletin boards, magnets, crafty knick-knacks, bookmarks, home decor and accents and so on and so on <G>.

Now let's get on with the festivities! If you came from Zenita's blog: Scrappin With Z then you are on the right track. If you want to start from the beginning, please hop on over to Nicole's Blog.

 ***************************
I'm a card and anything paper type of crafter but the one area that is hard to motivate myself is in making scrap book page layouts. I know that seems weird but when I sit down to do the layout, it never ends up as I planned. I have sketched it out ahead of time and picked out the papers I was going to use and in the end it never looks like the sketch or I end up only using one or two of the papers I've picked out plus a whole different bunch. Saying all that, I decided for this challenge to challenge myself and make a layout so here it is...
The card stock came from DCWV - The Celebration Stack.

Don't you love the sentiment? I used my Cricut and the cartridge, Storybook. The inner flower, found on page 36, is cut at 3 inches and the outer flower cut at 3.5 inches.

Thank you for checking my layout out and I would love it if you would leave me a comment below before hopping along to the next blog. Have a wonderful, fierce, and fabulous day!

Glamorous Side Of Scrapping, Anything But A Card, Blogaversary Blog Hop

Welcome to the Glamorous Side of Scrapping, Anything but a Card, Blogaversary Blog Hop being hosted by Ashley at the Glamorous Side of Scrappin. She is giving away lots of prizes for this special hop so make sure you hope to her site if you haven't already to see what she has to show and to get in on the drawings. Also, please hop along to all the other's on this blog hop and leave comments. The ladies have worked hard on their projects and you never know, some might be giving away some blog candy as well. : )

************************
One of my closest friends is having a baby shower today and awhile back I made the shower invites so I thought I would continue through and make a scrap book layout too. Her theme is owls if you haven't guessed.

I used the Debbie Mumm Nursery Rhyme Glitter Card Stack for the layout plus a few odds and ends for the owls and plain pink card stock for the areas to write in. I was so lucky as to find "The Owl and the Pussy Cat" themed paper in this stack.
This is page one of the layout. These are the same owls I used on the invites but in different colors. The owls are SVG files I got through SVGattick.

Here is a close up of the owls.
I cut the mommy owl at 3.5 inches and the baby at 2.5 inches.

Here is a close up of the heading:
Here is page two layout:

Here is a close up of what the little signs say. I left the middle one blank so they could take a special picture and add it with their own caption.
