I Believe in Angels Blog Hop

Today Lynne is hosting this very special hop about angles and the angels that have touched our lives. Please begin at her blog so you don't miss any of these beautiful and inspirational angels.
 glittergraphicsite.com

Angel of God,
My Guardian Dear,
to whom His love commits me here,
ever this day be at my side,
to light and to guard,
to rule and guide.

The above prayer has special meaning and memories to me. When I first started teaching, I taught at a very rural Catholic school and each day the children would say this prayer before class. I loved that job and those kids and this prayer has become a very special memory for me.

Here is my project for today. I designed the angels myself.
On the back, I have put the Guardian Angel prayer for my daughter since this will hang in her room over her bed.

We have fabulous sponsors today
  1. Lucy Kelleher, A Close to My Heart representative, has graciously offered a stamp set called "Angelic Blessings" to one lucky winner that becomes a follower of her blog, http://love2createitall.blogspot.com
  2. Daisy Collins of I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose, http://tsunamirosedesigns.blogspot.com/, also has a Zibbet store, http://www.zibbet.com/tsunamirose, where she designs beautiful papers - has graciously offered to custom design a paper for one very very lucky winner that becomes a follower of her blog!

Thank you so much for joining us on this very special angel hop and may the angels always be at your side to guide and guard you.

Please continue on to Barbara and while you're there, wish her a happy birthday today. ;)

Boys Will Be Boys Blog Hop

Welcome to the My Life in Arts n’ Crafts, Boys will be boys hop. No doubt we have a boy in our life, sons, husbands, boyfriends, dad, grandpas, uncles, brothers, or even just the crazy guy next door. Well we tend to do things a little girly most of the time so this hop is dedicated to just making something for guys. No frill, no Glitter, just all Manly.

For one of the special guys in my life I made a card. It was the first day of school so I thought all the kids should get a card to send them off.

I used the olive colored jute from the My Life in Arts n’ Crafts store. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the lighting right for the picture to show off how really cool this jute in the olive green looks but believe me it does tool cool and made the card a hit with my youngest man.

Make sure to follow all 4 of the ladies in this blog hop as well as comment. Jessi will be giving away the All for the Boys Combo, which is 15 yards of: Navy, Olive, and Natural.

Thanks for stopping by and please hop on over to Angela's blog.

    Aviation Blog Hop

It's a plane! It's a bird! No, it is a plane and this is the Aviation Blog Hop to celebrate National Aviation Day. Our talented crafters took to the sky to create their project for this hop and I hope you will stop by all the blogs, see their high flying projects and leave them a comment.

This blog is hosted by Lorby's World and I have a give away as usual. Please just leave a comment and follow me and I have some airplane stickers and fancy buttons to send your way.

Okay, I am so excited to share my project today and the reason being is that I designed not only the layout but I created all the die cuts myself. Yup, the plane, pilot, clouds and banner. I have been doing a picture here and there for cards but have never done a whole layout. I'm not going to lie, I spent hours doing touch ups on it and still find things I want to add and change but for now enjoy.

I used my Cuddlebug to emboss the clouds and the background paper is The Old World Stack from DCWV. The twine is from My Life in Arts n' Crafts in denim and shore (baby blue).
Detailed picture of my plane and pilot.

Thank you so much for stopping by and please fly on over to Cicily's blog.

Scraps to Treasures Blog Hop for August

Welcome to the Scraps To Treasures August hop (day 2). This weekend we have several amazing crafters lined up to show you their interpretation of this sketch.

If you have arrived here from Ellan's blog you are where you should be. If you found your way here on your own, you may want to start at Robin's blog - http://scrapandchat.blogspot.com/ to make sure you do not miss a thing.

Now before we get to our fabulous projects Robin is giving away some Blog Candy so be sure to check out her blog for directions on how to enter to win.

    Now on to my project!

I used left over paper I had from Oriental Trading called Fanciful Fairies. There are pink watermark stars on the light pink paper. I designed the stars myself on the corners. I wanted a star but not a perfect star. You can't really see the silver brad but it's star shaped too.

Thank you so much for hopping along with us Your next stop is Lucy's blog.
Just in case you need it, here is the full line up.

    Tell a Joke Blog Hop

What do cows do for entertainment? They go to the moo-vies. Hardy, har, har.

Our "Tell a Joke Blog Hop" will have you laughing all the way through the line up. Each blogger has crafted a great project but also added a laugh. Start here and I'm sure you'll be crying from laughing so hard by the time you get through our line up.

Yes, I have something to give away but I need you to leave me a comment and become a follower to win.

Before I show you my project I have a big announcement to make. I am one of the newest members on the design team for Lisa over at Scrapping with Lisa Designs. Today is my day to post for the design team so I thought I would intertwine my new position, announcement and this blog so I used some of Lisa's files to bring my joke to life...

The bales of hay came from the Corn Maze Set and the adorable cow came from Cows set.

Friendship Blog Hop - Day 2

Welcome to the Friendship Week Blog Hop!

We are starting the week out with ideas so you can finish the week
by making friendship cards or gifts to send to your friends
We are so excited to share what we made for our friends!
If you have arrived here from (person before you's blog) you
are in the right place. If you popped in to see what your friend has on her
blog you may want to start at the beginning,
    Jessi's blog: http://mylifeinartsncrafts.blogspot.com/

Yesterday I quickly put up my project but with no story or instructions so today I am putting the same project up first and telling about it so please bear with me, then I will move on today's project. I promise.

Yesterday I showcased a house shaped card and here it is again but looking better.  The right side is suppose to fold in so the card can stand up and looks better all around. I used red colored jute from My life in Arts and Crafts store.

This is the a close up of the jute and saying. This card is taking a trip back to Tucson for a very good friend who I miss dearly.

    Day 2 project:
Doesn't this saying fit perfectly with this hop theme? I just love it. I colored the flowers with my BIC markers and I used purple jute for my accents. The purple Tinery twine can be found at My Life in Arts and Crafts.

Thank you so much for stopping by and saying HI and now on to your next blog Tahi's blog.

    National Polka Day Blog Hop

Umpa. Umpa. Umpa. We are celebrating national polka day but adding a twist. Polka is to music and to DOT so we have created things that have POLKA DOTS on them. How fun! Instead of making Polka music our talented crafters have made things with dots on them.

Start here and don't forget to leave a comment and become a follower of mine to get into the drawing I'm having for Cloud 9 stickers and brad toppers.

    Here are my polka dots...

I made this card for a blog hopping friend whose mother-in-law is very ill. It's not a fancy card but it has a special secret.

It's a pocket on the front that holds a picture of Jesus and on the back of the picture is the poem "Footprints."

     Here's Day's 1 project...
I forgot to take a close up of the braided twine from My Life in Arts and Crafts. Instead of just using one color of twine, I decided to braid three colors. I like the way it turned out and know I will use this idea again.

I love this little school megaphone button I got in a bunch of buttons from Tuesday Mornings.
I have three children in school and two are in the elementary so I made each of them their own layout for the first day of school. This is the second layout.

I cut my bus out and added glitter and glued it to a button. I have some red twine from My Life in Arts and Crafts in the background.

Thank you for checking out my project! Your next stop along the way is Lissa Marie

    Watermelons and Picnics Blog Hop

This is the Watermelons and Picnic blog hop where we have lots of creative things to express our love of summer and picnics and watermelon. I am your hostess, Jearise (AKA Lorby), and I hope you enjoy all the fun and talented projects we are showcasing today.

I will be giving this digital stamp to one lucky winner of a drawing in the next few days. Just leave comments for the ladies since they work so hard and come follow me on my blog.
I ask that people don't download or copy this digital stamp without my permission.

So grab your family, friends and neighbors and let's go on a picnic...

    First Card:

I had fun putting this card together. I decided to try my hand at free hand drawing a watermelon and this is what I came up with. I used colored pencils to color it and then markers to highlight areas. Finally, I added Mod Podge glitter to make it sparkle. The Simply Sweet words came from my friend Tee's blog: One Scrap At A Time. You can go there yourself to get the words and see her watermelon she made for a post on July 8th.
I tried to show you the glitter here.
    Second Card:
This card came about while looking for background paper for the card above. I pulled out my "The Summer Stack" from DCWV and they had adorable paper in the stack with watermelons on it. I used the Simply Sweet quote again from One Scrap At A Time and the Blue Denim twine came from My Life in Arts n' Carts store. The striped background paper is from DCWV but I don't remember what stack.

I have to show you what I did with my buttons.
I stacked and glued them and I spaced them out some instead of bunching them up. I like the look.

Thank you for joining me on our picnic and I hope you have room for more watermelon at Tee's picnic.
