Now on with the projects.

I've never done a spinner card so this was something new to me and took a little extra time. I wanted to use my Silhouette Cameo to cut one it out but the choices I found in their online store were far and few inbetween so I decided to use one of their cute files to get the basic cut and then use this adorable chef from Bugaboo Stamps. I colored him using colored pencils. The bowl and table are also from the Silhouette online store.

This is the inside of the cake and files also from the Silhouette online store.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I look forward to seeing you next month.

Here's today's line-up in case you get lost along the way

DT Monday for SVG Attic

Hi all.

I have taken the "Down on the Farm" set from SVG Attic and turned it into a cute birthday card. My 6 year old son liked it so much he asked if I would save it for his birthday and if he could now have a farm themed birthday part. We'll see but in the meantime let me share what I made and how I made it.

I took the barn from the set and down sized it to 6 inches and then I copied and pasted the identical barn right next to the first one. I then overlapped the two barns just slightly. I lost the one overhang on the barn roof but that's okay because the brown frame hangs over some when you glue it on so you don't notice.

I brought all the other parts into Sure Cuts A Lot and made sure they fit over the bard. I set all the other parts of the front of the barn at 6.00 inches for width.
I glued everything onto the red barn before gluing it onto the white cardstock because I had some cutting to do. I put the criss/cross pattern on the barn doors but then I had to use my x-acto knife to cut around the edges so the doors opened. I left a slight gap when gluing the criss/cross pattern on because I knew I would need to slice between the doors.
I found a great way to give ordinary paper some texture. I put on thin lines of Sctoch's quick drying glue and then rubbed it as it started to dry.
I cut my chicken at 1.250 inches so she's fit in the loft window.

I cut my cow at 2.130 inches in width. The word bubble is from the Sure Cuts A Lot program and it's shape library.
My cow was so small that I had to draw the inside of his ears and spots on.
Inside of the card.

Hope you enjoyed my farm themed birthday card as much as I enjoyed making it and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World.

Pink Buttons and Bows Card blog hop

Please click here for DT Monday with SVG Attic.

Welcome to our blog hop today!!! Its my granddaughter, Lily's, first birthday and what better way to celebrate then with a little help from my friends! A beautiful baby girl with pink buttons and bows thus we will be celebrating first birthdays using the color theme pink with a dash of buttons and bows not to mention a splash of bling.

Sit back, grap a cupcake and help us celebrate Lily's first birthday. If you just happened upon my blog by mistake, I want you to get your big girl shoes and panties on and start at the beginning which is Lynne but if you came from Gill then you are in the right place.

For our blog candy, it is going to be a pink package with buttons, bows and a bit splash of bling and Stickles and to become eligible just leaving a comment on each baby step along the way and become a new follower if you so desire!! How easy is that!!!!

Since Lynne is such a good blog friend and I have been watching Little Lilly grow up these past few months, I decided I need to make her some personal and original so I designed my own bog card for her. I actually made two.
This was the first one and I liked it but decided I could do better on the bow and it would be nice to have a more contrasting background so I touched up my file.
Also, the color is actually a very bright pink but no matter how I tried I ended up with this neon purpleish pink. It is not this bright  - I swear. I love the button in the middle of the bow. I just bought those and they are rubber buttons. I used bakers twine from We R Memory Keepers for the button center. There are two layers to the top bow part.
This is the second card and I cut a background of light green with polka dots. As you can tell the bow top is layered. I made the bow tails thinner too which I like better.
This is the inside of the card and you can see how the bow is actually part of the card design. It says, "Sweet Birthday Wishes" on the inside.

This is the close up of the bow and you can see the layers. I love the butterfly button. It is also a rubber button from k i Memories.

Happy birthday Little Miss Lilly. I hope it's a grand 1st birthday with lots of pink, buttons, and bows plus bling to make your day sparkle.

Now hop on over to Shannon's Blog.

WE HAD ANOTHER HOPPER, LISA P., WHO IS UNABLE TO DO THE HOP TODAY. SHE CAME AFTER KIMBERLY SO PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU GO TO LUCY TO KEEP ON TRACK. THANKS

Hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World.

Bday Card using my Eclips

I couldn't get this post up any later could I? It's been an interesting day here. First, my daughter had a birthday party to go to so I got up this morning and made a quick card which I will share in a minute. Next, I decided to go to the party and take pictures and finally, just as I went to leave the (pool) birthday party we had an earthquake. My first one ever!

The quake took up all my afternoon watching the T.V. to make sure we were not going to be evacuated since we are less then 40 miles from the epicenter. We're all safe and sound and no evacuations.

I broke out one of my new cartridges for my Sizzix Eclips. I bought the machine and I refuse to get anymore cartridges then the ones I just bought and the one that came with it - total 5. The machine is suppose to become compatible with Sure Cuts A Lot in October and that's what I bought it for. I have hundreds of SVG files and prefer  to use them over cartridges. It's easier to organize them into files and find them on my laptop.

Here is the card - plain and simple since I ran out of time making it. I'm still figuring out the Eclips. It has things set up differently on it compared to my Expression.

The cartridge I used for the card is Woodland Creatures and Deer Me Alphabet. I wanted different alphabets for this machine because I think it does a better job at cutting little letters than the Cricut Expression. My daughter picked out the little fox from this cartridge and I used a frame as the card from the cartridge: Starter and Rockin' Janie. The frame size is a width of 5 1/2 inches folded in half.

I grabbed some of my buttons and sewed some thread through them because I really don't like leaving them plain. Just a me thing. I put the pink hart on a Sticky Doo so it's raised and then I slid the other buttons under it.

I used stamps from the set "Take the Cake" from Pink by Design.

I would have made this a lot more fancy with ribbon and such but just ran out of time. The little girl that it was for loved it and that's all that counts.

"29? Again" Blog Hop

Welcome to the "29 ? AGAIN" birthday blog hop. We are so glad you have decided to join us today for this is a ONE day blog hop that will last all day today, from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm.

SCRAPPINGMAMMA  (our blog hostess) will be donating a bunch of crafting items as well.. And our blog participants will also have blog candy along the way, so be sure to comment on all of the blogs..

Happy 29th birthday to you at any age. Isn't it fun to stay 29 forever!?! I took that thought and turned it into a fun card.
This card only has a front side but it has a lot going on for one side.  I used DCWV for the paper with a shiny background for the letters but thought it needed more so I got out my Bic markers and colored the white part of the letters in as well as the candles and chocolate frosting on the cake.

I used Stickle's glitter glue for my flames and Liquid Pearls to outline the cake. I gently stamped brown and purple on my cake and dish to give it it's speckled look.

The bow was a project in itself. I braided ribbon, strung it through the top of the card, glued it down, then when it was dry I went back and took out the ends of the braids and trimmed them to the length I thought they looked best.

Thanks for taking the time to look and now you can continue on your "29? Again" blog hop but first go below and see what to do to get in on the fabulous blog candy give away.
