June Sketch Blog Hop - Day 1

Welcome to the Sketch Blog Hop. Everyone has had so much fun doing these it's turned into a regular event!

The purpose of this hop is to show how all of these talented bloggers can take the same sketch and come up with totally different cards. If you've never used a card sketch before, give it a try! You should have arrived from Jamie's Blog. and if you just happened along the hop, you can go back to the start at www.craftycardgallery.blogspot.com
This was the sketch we were asked to modal our cards after.

And this is the card I came up with. I wanted a masculine card since I made this card around Father's Day and was in a masculine kind of mood.

 The background papers I embossed with my Cuddlebug. The clock face is a stamp that I bought from a friend and am not sure who makes it.
 I used twine from The Twinery to tie into each button.
The "Make a Wish" stamp is from a group of acrylic stamps I have.
Thank you so much for hopping today and please continue on to Tonia's Blog

Hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World.

Another Fairy Day Bog Hop

A Fairy Song

Over hill, over dale,
Thorough bush, thorough brier,
Over park, over pale,
Thorough flood, thorough fire!
I do wander everywhere,
Swifter than the moon's sphere;
And I serve the Fairy Queen,
To dew her orbs upon the green;
The cowslips tall her pensioners be;
In their gold coats spots you see;
Those be rubies, fairy favours;
In those freckles live their savours;
I must go seek some dewdrops here,
And hang a pearl in every cowslip's ear.

William Shakespeare
Welcome to our FAIRY special blog hop hosted by Fairy Queen Gill. I think most everyone loves fairies and they have been apart of story telling lore since the beginning of time and today we pay homage to those beautiful mystical creatures of nature and life - fairies.

Info about the cards: I got the fairy digital stamps from Craft Gossip. They are free!. I used colored pencils and markers to color them. Once I had the images colored, I used glitter Mod Podge to add some sparkle to them. The first card I used liquid pearls and Stickles to decorate but I left the other two cards more bare so that I could add embellishments to use them as needed for instance if I need a quick get well or birthday card.

Please continue on to Leslie Rahye's blog  and thank you for stopping by.

Scraps to Treasure Blog Hop - Day 2

What do you do with all those scraps? Do you discard them? Do you let your children get their creative juices flowing with them? This hop gives some creative ideas on what to do with all those scraps that are just taking up space in your scrap box, if you have a scrap box. I have one and here is it...
You should have just hopped from Lissa Marie's Blog  If you just joined our hop, please start with Robin's blog, our hostess. Otherwise continue on from here and don't forget to check our sponsor's: Shannon Leffew Keith and Ginger Snap Scraps.

To celebrate Father's Day, I used my scraps to make this Father's Day card for my father-in-law. The stamp is also a scrap in a sense, I bought it used from a friend. I love going to Goodwill and second hand stores looking for stamps to use. You can save a lot of money that way.
I wish I could have gotten a better picture of the pocket knife. I used two different colors of ink on it so it has a neat appearance to it. I took several pictures trying to get it to show but just couldn't.

Thanks for hopping again today and Happy Father's Day to all those great men in our lives that we consider fathers be it biological, adoptive, step or grandfather.

Hope you enjoyed looking at what I've been up to and now continue on to Cicily's blog.

Sraps to Treasures Blog Hop - Day 1

This hop gives some creative ideas on what to do with all those scraps that are just taking up space in your scrap box, if you have a scrap box. I have one and here is it...

I decided I wanted some basic cards that I could add embellishments to as needed to fit the occasion that I would need them for. I started digging in my scrap pile of paper and in my extra cuts of ribbon and this is what I cam up with.

As I was cleaning up my scrap room, I found a little flower that I had made but didn't use and I realized it would look nice on this card so I added it to one of them. You can see what I mean by adding little embellishments to fit the card for any occasion.
Here's another card I came up with using scraps... Those are suppose to be coffee beans on the background.
Hope you enjoyed looking at what I've been up to and now continue on to Cicily's blog.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Schools Out for Summer Blog Hop - Day 2

I hope you enjoyed all the projects from yesterday and I hope you have been enjoying the projects from Day 2 also.

On the last day of school, my daughter came home with a blank note card and a stamped addressed envelope of another child in her class. I was puzzled so I asked her about it. The child's mother had given one to each child in the class so that this summer the children can write a note about what they are doing and send it to her child. WHAT A BRILLIANT IDEA! What child doesn't love to get mail?

I took this idea and when one step further by letting my daughter make her own card that could be given and I also made a card to be given out.

My daughter's card:
She stamped and cut out the flowers by herself. I was impressed at how well she cut the flowers out. I helped her rip the paper for the middle section but she decided what she would draw. We left the inside blank for the other child to write their note to my daughter.

My card:
I thought the child could draw a little picture on the upper part of the card and write the note on the inside. The stamp is a circus themed stamp from Michael's that says "Have fun!".

Thanks for being part of this hop. It was fun putting our thinking caps on and coming up with creative cards to end the school year. Hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World.

Schools Out for Summer Blog Hop

The end of another school year is upon us and that means saying good-bye to school friends and teachers plus no more early morning roll call and yelling, "Hurry up or you'll miss the bus!" or "Where did you put your backpack?" or "What do you mean you left your lunch on the counter? Well I guess you'll have to go hungry today then."

Now it's time to relax by the pool, take a family vacation and wait for that inevitable question, "Mom, when does school start? I'm bored."

But to get your summer vacation started before the question sets in and to help celebrate the end of another school year, Lissa Marie with a bunch of crafty friends has put together a delightful "Schools Out for Summer" blog hop.

Enjoy all the wonderful ideas these people have come up with to celebrate the end of another busy and fun school year. This is a two day hop with different projects both days so enjoy today and come back to enjoy tomorrow.

Lorby's Project:

I made my children's teachers lots of things to end the school year and I've featured them in my blogs over the past few weeks such as a chocolate filled box but for today's hop I want to showcase the Thank You card I made.

The owl comes from the GIVE A HOOT file from SVG Attic.
 I'm sorry but I can't remember the name of the stamp but there is a whole set I bought last year just for making teachers' cards.
 I used brown card stock for the card and then used orange over it so the branch is more dimensional. I added glitter glue here and there just to give the card some sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow. Your next stop is Cicily Lesher.

2nd Annual "For the Love of Pink" Blog Hop

Welcome to Gill's second annual "For the Love of Pink" to help her celebrate her birthday. Gill is our hostess for this blog but you should have come from   to mine.

For some reason, pink and holes went together for my creation. I love the little cupcake stamp I used in the middle and I used my new set of Promarkers to color it. I love those markers!

Thanks for hopping by and please continue on to.
