My son's 6th birthday is officially today. We celebrated it with a big party back in December so he and his older sister could share a party and then we did the small grandparents for dinner this weekend so today I will give him a card for his official day.

I made this card using Inkscape. Does it look familiar? I used it for my blog button for today's hop too. I found a truck coloring page and then used it to give me an idea of what I wanted to make. After I finished studying the picture I decided this needed to be a card instead of just a picture.

There's No Business Like Snow Business Blog Hop

There's Snow Business like Snow Business with all the friendly snowman putting on a show for you today. All I need is a cane and a top hat to start singing now or be Frosty the Snowman and shout "Happy Birthday"!  It may be Frosty and Cold outside but it's warm inside as long as you stay bundled up sledding through our hop!

We have a wonderful line-up for you to either grab your tobagon, sled, sleigh or ski's to check out the craftiness -- grab that hot cocoa and don't forget the marshmallows AND whipped cream, soft blankie, stay warm and snuggly and check out how we build a snowman before he melts!

If you happened upon my blog in error, I do want you to begin at the beginning of building Frosty by stopping by Miss Kari.

We do have some snow candy for you today for stopping by but you need visit all the snow drifts along the way and leaving a warm snuggly comment but just watch out for the yellow snow! Just check out the ribbon, chipboard snowflakes, clear stamp along with a light mauve stamp pad and just some added bling bling and crystal stickles!!!! A great way to build that personal snowman of yours!!!



In the meantime, let's get on with the SNOW . . .

I made a snowman card using the file "Build a Snowman" from SVG Attic. I just my snowman at 6.5 inches and welded to snowmen together.

I then sized all his other pieces to fit...

Remember that when you weld two silhouettes together that everything has to go on the one right hand one because the one on the left if the back of your card.

Once Mr. Snowman was cut I had some fun with the embellishments. I found some mini (and I do mean mini) buttons in my button stash and I added some glitter Modge Pod to his heart and finally I added green flocking to the rim and ball on his cap
.

For some added touches I used my Cuddle Bug and did a snowflake embossing all over Mr. Snowman and then I used silver glitter mist on him also. You can't see the silver glitter mist in the pictures but it's there.

Love Bug Banners for Kids Hop

I found my images that I printed off on my color printer at Lettering Delights.

I love using Mod Podge or the Martha Stewart decoupage glue on projects because it makes the colors brighter and bolder and the paper more durable for frequent handling.

I just recently read an article that exclaimed that Doilies are the "in" craft thing right now which is good for me since I have always loved using them and have a box full.

I used glitter Mod Podge for the center of my doilie.

SVG Attic DT Monday

Hello Monday and welcome to my DT Monday project for SVG Attic.

I made this adorable birthday hat for my son's 6th birthday. 

 The birthday hat and rosette are from the New Year Party Collection.

 The tag is from the collection Holiday Cheer Gift Boxes.

SVG Attic January Challenge

I just love using glitter so this challenge was right up my craft alley with the theme "metallic and glitter."

I am putting the holiday decorations away but I like to put up all things "snow" for the month of January so thanks to SVG Attic, I made this cute little hanging snowball holder.

I used the cone shaped box from the file set Fun Shaped Boxes.

The paper has silver glitter dots all over it. The paper just glimmers when the light shines on it.

The "snowballs 5cents" word art comes from the file Cozy Christmas Sayings. I had fun adding glitter glue to give it the extra sparkle.

I used rolled, crumpled up tissue paper to make my snowballs.
