June is Bustin' Out With Flowers Blog Hop

Flowers are in bloom as the warm summer air dances lightly across the yards and fields and this blog hop is all about the flowers.

I'm your hostess for this hop and if you make the rounds and give some good vibes on all the crafter's blogs, I will add you to a drawing for a $10 gift card to Michaels and whatever other goodies I have to stick in my padded envelope. It's a small group of participants so it won't take you long to be wowed and to leave a comment for each one.

Now flower power away

I'm not going to lie, I think this is one of my most favorite cards ever. I just took a pre-folded A2 card and embossed one side with my Cuddlebug. Then I slightly ran brown chalk ink over the raised area so you could see the music notes. The cut outs are from Graphic 45. I made the flowers using the flower shoppe cartridge from Provocraft and then I added half pearls and charms from Miriam's Crafting Supplies and twine from My Life in Arts N Crafts. A simple card but I really like it.

Thank you for stopping to smell the flowers and down the path to Camille.

Vintage Decorations from SVG Attic

I love decorating for all the holidays and that includes the 4th of July. The newest set Vintage Nation and the Vintage Patriotic Cupcake Wrapper  from SVG Attic were the perfect sets to combine to get my decorating under way.
This is the star and rosettes from the Vintage Nation set and the middle adornments are from the Vintage Patriotic Cupcake Wrapper set.

Both the box and the rocket lantern are from the Vintage Nation set. I had fun adding the wire and stars that come out of the middle of the rocket and the rocket has a special surprise - it holds a tea light so it glows at night.
I used Tim Holz Distress Christmas stack for this set. One side of the paper has Christmas designs but the other is distressed solid colors that work perfectly for these decorations.

Check out these two sets and all the wonderful cutting files at SVG Attic and right now there is a sale going on where you can get 35% off your order by using the code: FREE at checkout.

Have a safe and happy 4th of July!

Freedom Rocks Blog Hop

for My Life in Arts N Crafts.

This is my last blog hop for My Life in Arts N Crafts. Jessi, the owner, is venturing into new territory so she is putting blog hops and design teams on hold. We've been together from the start so this is bittersweet for me but I am so proud of how far she has come since meeting her and joining her team. I have never understood how that young lady has handled it all this past year with work, school, job and her own business but she's a little firecrackers so this is the perfect blog hop to end on for the design team.

Her business will continue so you will still be able to get your ribbon, twine and jute from her store - My Life in Arts N Crafts Store.

My project is a take I saw on someone else's project a few weeks back. I thought it was so neat of an idea that I had to try it.

The rosette is a cutting file from SVG Attic and their Vintage Nation set. I misted the paper with Perfect Pearls Mist - Forever Red and then used the red and blue twines from My Life in Arts N Crafts Store to wrap around each section.

I love how easy this was to do but yet how pretty it is and so versatile too.
The paper on the other side has a Christmas design so if I had only used the red twine, I could have also used this again at Christmas time. How versatile it that!?

Thanks for stopping by today and seeing all our 4th of July creations and now onto Robin's Blog.

Super Hero Stuff

The Stamping Chef has a wonderful new set of 6 x 6 digital papers and guess the theme? Yup, you're right - Super Hero. These papers are so bright and fun to work with that I just had to put something together for this challenge.

This was a quick and almost simple digital scrapbook book page that can be scaled down to make a 4 x  4 or a 5 x 5 birthday card. I plan on using it this weekend for a birthday party my son is invited to.

The background is from the Super Hero Stuff pack and so it the border which is actually a 6 x 6 paper from the pack that I made narrow to use as a border. Superman is a free digital picture that I found on line and why I used the words "almost simple" is because I had to make the background transparent and I was having a dickens of a time doing so but finally did and this is what I came up when it was all put together. I love it! Superman pops off the page even though he's not a sticker and the skyscraper background is just perfect!

SuperHere Stuff
So hurry on over to The Stamping Chef to check out this new set and to also see all her other wonderful creations.

Metal Embellishments bring a card to life...

I have to be honest when Miriam sent me these metal embellishments and told me to use them on my projects for this month's challenge at Miriam's Crafting Supplies, I was thinking that there was no way I could use these. They are beautiful but I just don't use things like these in my crafting. Then I got them in the mail and look what happened...
I made this card a few months back and thought it was pretty enough but I kept thinking it needed something else and was just too plain. When I got the metal embellishments from Miriam's Crafting Supplies I thought why not give them a try and WOW, they really added that extra touch I was looking for.

Here is a close up of the metal embellishment on the corner. Isn't it beautiful?
Card Recipe:
Bronze metallic paper put through my Cuddlebug to dry emboss.
Dark Green Jute from My Life in Arts N Crafts
Butterfly sticker from my stash
Metal Corner Embellishments and Half Pearls from Miriam's Crafting Supplies
All adhered to a A2 card

These metal embellishments are so versatile on projects from cards to ornaments to jewelry. Click on any of the words to see what I mean.

Have a great day!!!

Stars and Stripes Challenge

There is a new challenge at The Stamping Chef going on now and the theme is Stars and Stripes. Tamara has so many cute designs to choose from that I'm sure you will find one that you can add a few stars and stripes to.

Here is my inspiration for the challenge.

I just love the way this turned out even if I forgot the stripes. Oops. I cute the milkshake off the stamp but kept the platter and glued the star to it. On the inside of the card it says, "LIKE THE STAR YOU ARE."

My cute little digital stamp is called Milkshake Anyone?

Head on over to the The Stamping Chef challenge to see the other design teams' projects and to join in the fun!

The stars are from Miriam's Crafting Supplies.

A box and jute

I've got a cute little box to show off for My Life In Arts N Crafts and the jute isn't used in the traditional way of tying it up. Just take a look.
I used the jute from the Christmas Jute Pack for the body of my butterfly. I just love it! It's a fake button sticker and I just wound the jute through the holes. Here is a close up.
I added some glitter Stickles to the butterfly wings for a little sparkle too and the box is from a cutting file from SVG Attic's.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out all the colored jute and twine plus ribbon galore at My Life In Arts N Crafts.
