This is what I have came up with for a colorful summer..

I was going to do a beach scene or even a rainbow but I went to Dearie Doll digital stamps and when I got looking at all her latest digital stamps I came across this one and fell in love and then I also remembered that one of the newest svg cutting file sets from SVG Attic had a watermelon box in it so I went looking and sure enough the Perfect Picnic set had exactly what I needed to go with the cute digital stamp. I added some mutli-colored twine, embossed the different sections of the watermelon box with my Cuddlebug and here you have it. I even got more lucky because I went shopping earlier in the day and bought some peanut m & m's and they fit perfectly in the box too. Now who to give the box to??? Hmm, maybe myself!

Teachers' Thank You Gifts - SVG Attic DT Post

Jearise here today to show you how I am saying thank you to the teachers for the awesome job they have done this year with my children.

As you all know the end of the school year is here. Some schools are already out but some have a week or two to go and that's enough time to get your files from SVG Attic and to make a special gift to say "Thank You" to your child's teacher.

I've been busy combining some of the old with the new for my projects this month. Yes, you read that right - projects (plural). I have three things I put together using a few of the wonderful files from SVG Attic.

These two projects I did for my daughter's second grade teacher. She is a nature lover and a healthy eater so I decided to do something healthy to say thank you.

I made this bag using the new AGED TO PERFECTION file. There is a bag in the set and I turned it into a bag that I am going to fill with fruit for the teacher. I used books for the picture to give you an idea of how big this bag is. It's perfect for holding bigger gifts.

I used the Back to School file for the book worm and  pencils border. You have to admit that little worm is adorable. I also used the Aged to Perfection set for the oval my cute little worm is sitting in. You could add a handle to this bag if you so desired it's that versatile.

I also added a worm to each side of the bag. Here are closeups of the pencils and worms.

Now along with my bag I decide to make a special thank you card. I used the set G is for Gratitude to make this card.

I added flowers from the set 3D Spring Flowers and a swirl from the Give a Hoot collection. I left the inside blank and my daughter is going to write a special message to her teacher.

For my son's teacher, I decided to go with a gift card for ice cream and in Austin the place to go for ice cream is Amie's. I still have to get over there to get the gift card but the gift card box is ready to go thanks to the Holiday Cheer Gift Boxes. These boxes just aren't for Christmas. You can use them for any special occasion. 

I added flowers from the 3D Spring Flower collection and a swirl from the Give a Hoot set. I wanted this gift card box and my thank you card to be similar so I used the same papers and colors. I just love the rosette in the Holiday Cheer Gift Boxes set.

I added a circle saying and another flower to the inside of the gift card box.

Here you can see how the gift card will fit in the box. I used a different card for this now.

Thank You Dad Card

Father's Day is a special time to say thank you dad for all you do and that is why I put together this special Father's Day card.

The file to make this card came from SVG Attic's Cards for Dad cutting file set.

I used the Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Paper Stash Paper Pad-Kraft Resist to make the card. This paper is great for making masculine projects.

I have to show you a close up side view so you can see the Glimmer Mist I used. I just love this stuff and find I spray it on almost all my projects now just to give them that little extra touch. Also, these mist that add a touch of glimmer and glitz to your projects come in almost every and any color you can think of.

(I must add that my letters are more of the yellowish color like in the first picture but every time I tried to get a good picture of the Glimmer Mist, the letters would turn out more green in color.)

Here's a close up of the "D" and the "A." You can see how I used Tim Holtz Distress ink pad in Tea Dye to give them a distressed look.

My final touch came with the buttons and twine. I used Doodle Twine in the Primary Colors Pack - green.

I used my go to glue - Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive and my go to tape gun -  Scotch Advance Tape Glidder to hold it all together.

Schools Out Blog Hop for My LIfe in Arts N Crafts

Welcome to the SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER blog hop being hosted by My Life in Arts N Crafts. The "My Life in Arts N Crafts" design team willing be sharing projects they made for the end of the school year. Please join us to see what they've created and to be inspired.

I made these cute little treat boxes to put some goodies in for the teachers. The bigger box was big enough to hold three multi-packs of gum and the smaller box held a bag of Dove chocolates perfectly.

I used the Back to School stack from DCWV to make the boxes and there is a cute page in the stack that is all apples so I just fussy cut some of the apples out. I stamped by tag and then used some pearl mist on it.

 Finally, after filling the boxes, I used red and black jute from My Life in Arts N Crafts store to secure the box ends to give the boxes some extra cuteness.

White on White Hop

Now let's begin this hop. Here is my project to share.

First, I need to say that the card background is all pure white and the yellow effect came from the light bouncing off it. I tried many shots but the only way I could get it true white was from an angle shot which is below.

The background was an embossing folder from Cricut and the inner design is one of the green emboss and cut folders from Cricut to use in your Cuddlebug. I wish I could tell you the name but I can't remember. Sorry. The design in the middle comes from a wedding stamp set from Fiskers. I was going to stamp a fancy Mr. & Mrs. from the stamp set but I realized there aren't a lot of people I know getting married anymore. Once you hit my age, everyone that's going to get married is married so I thought the design would go better because now I can use it for different special occasions. 

I also made an envelope with my envelope punch board from We are Memory Keepers. I just got this board the other day and am lovin' it!

This is Isabella, she was a classmate and friend of my daughter's when they were in kindergarten together. Isa was snatched out of her bedroom a year ago this past April. We are still keeping the candles burning for her safe return. We know it is possible but we know we need to get the word out. Here is one of her school pictures.

The Stamping Chef (May 22) Challenge - Metal

The design team was asked to use one of The Stamping Chef's unique digital stamps to create a card that had something metal on it or about it. I went with the about it.

I used silver color pencil to color some of my digital stamp - Abigale. Then I used gold cardstock from DCWV and sprayed the digital stamp and sentiment with Perfect Pearls Copper Mist and finally used gun metal embossing powder from Stampendous! for the saying. Now that's a lot of metal!
