Thankful Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the ‘Thankful’ Bloghop! This is the time of year we really reflect on what we have to be thankful for. One of those things I am thankful for is scrapbooking and all the crafts, supplies and people that go along with it. A group of people is joining me today, and tomorrow, to share projects that all have the word ‘thank’ on them.

In addition to seeing a lot of awesome creations, there is some blog candy available too. If you comment on everyone’s blog post you will be entered to win the goodies. I stamped and heat embossed the "So Thankful For You." I love heat embossing! I also used my Cuddleug and one of the Tim Holz's embossing folders.

November 14th - National American Teddy Bear Day 

I drew the teddy bear in Inkscape and then printed him out and used Promarkers to color him in. The words, "Free Hugs" I just printed off with my color printer.

November 21 World Hello Day

 Elmo to the rescue to give you a BIG Hello!

I used my Elmo's Party cartridge for this. It's the first time I've ever used it and I had so much using it that I plan on using it again.

DT Altered Project for Tsunamirose

Welcome to Lorby's World and I can't be more excited. I am one of the newest members of Tsunami  Rose's altered projects team.

My assignment was to alter a clipboard using Tsunami Rose's beautiful digital papers. I knew what I wanted to do but I have never altered a clipboard before so I had to do some You Tube video watching and the one thing I learned was that everyone seems to do it differently so off I went in my own direction and this is what I came up with.

I painted the clipboard with a light brown color and then went back over with a light yellow that I sanded off after it dried. I love the look around the edges. I then used Martha Stewart decoupage glue and sealer to adhere Tsunami Rose's grunge wood plank digital paper to the background. I then cut out the fairies from the 3x3 Printable Ephemera "fairies" and the Life Abloom Tabs Ad On from the Life Abloom journal.

I love bling so I went back and added sparkle (glitter) Mod Podge to all the flowers.

This is such a fun project that I plan on making two mini clipboard next to give as gifts. This was suppose to be a gift for a niece but my daughter fell in love with it so I told her it's for my niece but in reality I am giving it to my daughter for upcoming birthday.

Circle Blog Hop

I sketched out a circle layout in Inkscape and then cut it out. I've never done a sketch before and it was kind of fun to do. I used fall colors because I want to use this layout for Thanksgiving in our new home so there are no pictures to add yet.

Announcement for Chalk n Stock and ME!

I am so excited as I am the newest member of Chalk n Stock. I love the work they do with chalk and have started using it as a regular medium to color in my stamps be they digital or good old fashioned rubber. Today I colored in a rubber stamp that I heat embossed after stamping. I used my chalks from Pebble Inc. to color in the image. I just love the softness that chalk brings to a project. I use all sorts of mediums when coloring such as alcohol markers, regular markers, colored pencils and water colors and find that chalk give the softest look to the image. I used a lot of chalk inks for accenting my dry embossing but that's for a later post. :)

The top card I used chalk to color the image and the bottom I used alcohol markers. This lets you see the softness the chalks bring to an image. Don't get me wrong, I love using all my medium but because they are so different and bring such versatility to my images.

My Life in Arts n' Crafts DT Day

Here is a birthday card I created using the Denim (Blue) colored twine from My Life in Arts n' Crafts. This twine comes in so many colors and is just that special extra touch for those cute little birthday cards for friends and friends of your children.

I used my alcohol markers by Letraset to color my cute little fairy. She was a stamp that I stamped and then heat embossed. I also stamped and heat embossed the words, "Make a wish." Aren't the just perfect for her? I used my Cuddlebug to emboss the white background. I just love swirls! The buttons were added for an extra splash of color.

Here is my project...

There is a special story behind my card. I designed the cornicopia for a friend because she told me she wanted to give it as a free digital stamp for a blog hop. The blog hop fell through. There weren't enough people that signed up for it. I decided to take the stamp and use my Promarkers to color it. Now it is a surprise for her since she didn't know what I was up to. I'm thankful for all my blog friends out there who have stood by me with all the moving I've done these past two years. You keep me sane.

I used DCWV Autumn Melody stack for the green background which I embossed using my Cuddlebug. I used a cute little leaf punch I've had for years for the punched out leaves and the paper I used for the leaves was a scrap but it look like there are veins in the leaves.
