Breast Cancer Awareness Month Blog Hop

Welcome to October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Today's hop is dedicated to those who are breast cancer survivors, mother, sister, aunt, or neighbor who have breast cancer and to those who lost the battle.

Reminder that please, schedule your mammogram. Self-examination doesn't always detect the nodules.

We have some great blog candy for this hop:
  • Anita has graciously offered in remembrance a $20 Gift Card to Michaels to one lucky winner.
  • Heather Dennis of Fresh Brewed Designs, www.freshbreweddesigns.com, has graciously offered to sponsor with a $15 digital stamp gift card to her shop.
  • Daisy Collins of Tsunami Rose Designs, http://www.zibbet.com/tsunamirose, has graciously offered a sheet your choice of her 8.5 x 11 Vintage Digital Printable Scrapbook Paper - "Bingo" Pink, http://www.zibbet.com/tsunamirose/artwork?artworkId=968105 or 8.5 x 11 Vintage Digital Printable Scrapbook Paper - "Bingo Rose" Pink, http://www.zibbet.com/tsunamirose/artwork?artworkId=968114
  • Lynne will make one lucky winner a pink and white bracelet with a pink ribbon.
  • For one other lucky winner, Lynne will make a pink cross that looks like it has been crocheted but made with her embroidery machine with a breast cancer awareness. I know this one is purple but the cross for the prize is pink with a breatst cancer awareness ribbon in the center.

We have a beautiful group of ladies who will show-case a special project for a personal crusade for Lynne, who is a survivor! Here is the complete line-up for a pink blog hop today in case you get lost along the way:

I made two cards for two very special ladies: Lynne and my mother in law.

That paper is from a stack 6 x 6 pack I received as a prize last year in a breast cancer blog hop. I wanted to see what I could do if I used the same papers but put the cards together differently so they were the same but not the same. I used Colorbox pink ink for my ribbon stamp and Ranger embossing powder.

I'm the last one in the hop ling up so let me take this time to say thank you for stopping by and to gently nudge you so you remember to get you breast exam this month or very soon.

Candy Corn Blog Hop

Trick or Treat...Yum, candy corn! Candy corn just isn't sweet to eat, it's also colorful to look at and that's what this hop is all about. Come join our crafters as they use candy corn and it's colors to create beautiful and cute projects.

I'm giving away two of my svg files during this hop plus a bunch of goodies to go along with them. To become qualified for the drawing, please leave a comment here and become a follower of mine if you aren't one already. That simple.

One of my files is this Halloween monster svg.

The other is part of my project so you have to take a look at what I made first. I wanted a simple and quick candy corn box that was easy to cut out and put together. This is what I came up with and will be the other svg file I email to you but I'm not done yet...

Mini Candy Corn tags from Oriental Trading a few years back
Halloween Twin from Divine Twine

I made two cards for this hop. I just love bright colorful candy corn if you couldn't tell.
Candy Corn paper is from K& Company's Tim Coffey's Halloween and Fall stack
Addicted to Candy Corn stamp is from Pumpkin Patch Stamps
Dry embossing is Hollween folder from Cricut and I used orange ink over it.
Orange Glitter hot embossing powder on stamp is Stamp n Stuff Red Dragon
Paper is from K&Company Tim Coffey's Halloween and Fall stack
Candy Corn stamp was from dollar bin at Joann's two years ago
Candy Corn buttons with back nipped off from Joann's
Orange Glitter hot embossing powder on stamp is Stamp n Stuff Red Dragon
Dry Embossing Tim Holz Swirls by Sizzix
Orange Chalk on dry embossing is Pebbles sparkle chalk

Here is the rest of what you'll get as a winner: svg file for the candy corn boxes,  bag of Brach's candy corn to fill your boxes, three mini tags, five candy corn buttons, and three yards of Halloween Divine Twin.

SCI-FI Blog Hop

The future: it holds a fascination for us. We sit and look at the stars and wonder what's out there. Many have tried to imagine what it would be like to reach the stars, to see that future. Those people created Science Fiction, a way to immerse ourselves in that imagining. Today we share with you a piece of our visions of this future time. Our hop starts at the head geek's blog: http://miriamscreations.blogspot.com/ If you have warped in from somewhere else make your way through hyperspace by clicking on the link, resistance is futile. If you arrived from [insert previous blog here] then you are following the correct space time continuum.

We have a great sponsor today! Scrapping with Lisa Designs will be giving a $20 gift certificate to the winner of our blog candy! To enter leave a comment on each blog, you are not required to become a follower but I'm sure it would be appreciated. Make sure to check out her files at http://scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/!

I also am holding a drawing. I am giving away two sheets of each of the papers I used in this project plus four more sheets for a total of 8 sheets and all the sheets are double sided. That's a lot of space and robot paper to have fun with.  The paper is from TPC Studios.

How to enter: Just leave me a comment and become a follower of mine or let me know if you already are. I'll pick the winner on Wednesday.

My first project is a Marvin the Martian card:

I got this stamp from Goodwill and it was one of the first things I colored with my Promarkers. I've been saving him for an occasion like this.

My next project is a layout I did using some of the paper I am giving away during this blog hop. A few years back we went to Roswell, NM and I have lots of fun pictures I need to find and add to this layout.

The space ship, ray gun, planet and words I created and made svg files out of them.

It would have worked much better to use acetate instead of vellum on the space ship. There is glitter and bling going on but it didn't show up in the pictures. The story of my life.

Thanks so much for stopping on your trek through the galaxy. We gave so much enjoyed your stop here today and look forward to seeing you in our galaxy in the near future.

Rustic Halloween Blog Hop with the My Life in Arts n' Craft DT

Welcome to the My Life in Arts n' Crafts Rustic Halloween Blog Hop,

Ever Notice how glittery Halloween has gotten commercially, Not that I don’t love Glitter like the next crafter out there. Way back when, when Halloween was new it was very Earthy and Rustic. So today my lovely designers and my self are taking Halloween Old school. No Glitter, No Bright colors. Halloween like how it’s suppose to be rustic and earthy, and maybe a little spooky.

Today Jessi, from My Life in Arts n' Crafts,  will be giving away 3 bundles of your choice of colors of the Jute. So head over and pick out your colors. You’ll want to make sure you’re a follower of all the blogs in the hop, as well as commenting on each. Make sure to leave contact info on your comment as well.

For my project today I used the very versatile jute in natural and purple. CLICK ON PICTURES TO ENLARGE AND GET SEE MORE DETAIL.
The imagine is from a Tim Holz paper pack and the embossing on both layers are also embossing folders from Tim Holz.

Now for my second project where I used the twine in orange and black.
I wish the colors of the twine had turned out better because the twine works so well with this image. You have to head to My Life in Arts n’ Crafts store and check out all their jute and twine. It works so well for any project.

Now please continue on to Lissa Maria's blog.

First Guest Designer Today

I am so excited for two specific reasons: First, I have my first official guest designer and second, she used one of my svg files I created. How exciting is that?!?

Lynne of Her Craftiness is my designer today and she used my Little Miss Spider SVG file to make this adorable card. She did a sweet job on the spider and the colors are creative. Please head over to Her Craftiness to get all the details on how she made this card and to give her some blog love.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hugs from Jearise in Lorby's World.
