All Things Tim Burton - October 22 and 23rd (Day 1)

If you're looking for the 13 Days of Halloween - Click Here

Boys and girls of every age, wouldn't you like to see something strange?  If you're a Tim Burton fan, you will recognize that line from "This is Halloween" -- a well-known song from the movie  "The Nightmare Before Christmas".  With Halloween just around the corner, this is the perfect time to celebrate all things Tim Burton! We have a talented group of ladies on this weekend blog hop.  Join us as we each share a project inspired by one of Tim's quirky characters!

If you've just come from Canadian Nickel's blog, you are right where you should be !  If you haven't but would like to start from the beginning, go to Dena's blog :  http://missdjones.blogspot.com/.

We would like to thank Karber Digital Images for sponsoring this blog hop.  Karber is giving away two digital stamps to one lucky person who comments during the blog hop.

*** To be eligible to win, you must comment on each blog in the hop.
*** You must become a follower of each blog.

*** The winner will be announced no later than Wednesday, October 26th.

Now, on to the project I would like to share with you:

I loved Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow and while looking at Tim Burton film posters online I came across this picture.

I was sure I could do my 3D version. It's not exactly the same but I think pretty cool anyway.

Hubby helped me out and found a picture of the moon on line and brought it into Inscape to tweak. He printed it out and I used Mod Podge on it to add a shine. The tree is a brown lunch bag twisted, twisted and twisted some more. I'll put together a tutorial on how I made that and put it on my blog on a later date. I used brown and black tempra paint to give the tree some depth and color. The headless horseman is from the Gothic Flourishes collection from SVGCuts.

If you've come to my world after viewing all the others then you are at the end and it is time to go dream all things Burton tonight and we'll see you tomorrow. If you get lost along the way, the complete blog hop lineup is below.  Thanks for stopping by !

Velcome to my blog. Mwa ha ha.

Yesterday, today, and tomorrow I'll be featuring cards made from studio g. I love these little A2 cards because they challenge me to get creative with them.

Here's a close up of a section of the third Studio g card I got creative with. I used these adorable paper spider confetti. The stamp comes from the set I used on the first day of the hop.

BLOG CANDY - It's like Halloween candy but without the calories.

I'm throwing in the box today the rest of the spider confetti and the extra Studio g cards. I only used 8 out of 200 spiders so I'm sure there are more than enough for you to get creative with. : )

I'll be throwing something from my stash into a BIG box each day and at the end of the hop I will draw a name and one lucky person gets it all.

There are only two requirements for this: 1. leave a comment with your email address 2. Become a follower or state it in your comment if you are one already.

(Every time you leave a comment, you get your name in the drawing again so if you stop by all 13 days then you're name will be in the drawing 13 times so who says 13 is an unlucky number?)

Here's today's drop in the box. It's three bottles of Studio g glitter glue in wonderful fall colors.

Beware of ghosts and werewolves as you continue on your journey to Tami and we'll see you tomorrow. : ) Jearise in Lorby's World.

Digital Blog Hop

Do you do digital layouts? Do you want to learn? This is a blog hop to see what other people are up to in this new and creative way to preserve memories. Some of these ladies are old pros while others, like myself, are new to it all but we are all crafty so there should be some great layouts to enjoy and maybe a trick or two to learn.

Please join us and hop along starting with me, Jearise in Lorby's World.

Also, we have a special digital tutorial given by Amy at http://www.lovetocrop.com/ at the end of the hop (Due to technical dificulties, Amy's video will be up around noon today.) so make sure you hop through all the digital displays from our wonderful scrap bookers. Janet at http://createatdreamscrapbooks.blogspot.com/ also has digital scrapbooking video for you to watch.

Our sponsor for this hop is My Memories Suite (http://www.mymemories.com/digital_scrapbooking_software ). Check out their site to see beautiful layouts and just how easy it is to start digital scrap booking.
BLOG CANDY: Grand Prize: A free copy of the latest digital scrap booking software from “My Memories Suite.”
Runner Up: $10 gift certificate to My Memories Suite to help indulge your new found hobby.

RULES FOR DRAWING:
  1. Go to the My Memories Suite site and find a digital layout you like.
  2. Return to Lorby's World and post your favorite digital layout in the comment box for this hop.
  3. Jearise from Lory's World will pick a winner after midnight on October 18th.

As a special to all those that hop along and leave a comment at all blogs on this hop, My Memories Suite is giving you your vary own “Share the Memories” code that provides a $10 discount off the purchase of the My Memories Suite Scrapbook software and a $10 coupon for the MyMemories.com store - $20 value! Your special code is: STMMMS74249

I hope you enjoy your digital scrap book blog hop experience here today!

I used the My Memories Suite software to do my scrap booking and this is the first digital layout I have ever done. I used one of the preloaded photo layouts and then added the background, words, and embellishments. I did have some trouble, as you can see, with the yellow zigzag not being low enough for the page. I left it this way on purpose to let you know that it's an easy fix. You can go back into the program, move it down, and save it again.

Now here are two pages I did with the My Memories Suite easy pick pages. You just pick the pre-made pages and put your pictures in. I added text to the first page but the second page I left alone and only added the pictures.

I guarantee that if you're not already addicted to scrap booking once you see what these ladies show and tell you about digital scrapbooking and then you go and try it yourself, you won't be able to stop!

Think Pink and Link to Pink for the Cure

Today I am guest designer over at Lynn's blog: Her Craftiness. I was honored to be quest designer once before on her blog and am even more honored now not just because she is a fantastic lady who let's me get creative on her blog but because this time around I am blogging for breast cancer awareness. This is a disease that effects millions of women and men each year. Progress has been made and some types of breast cancer are not considered a death sentence any long but there are still many kinds that are and that is why we keep our vigil each year for the month of October to wear pink, use pink notepads and pens and just plain think pink for a cure and awareness.

I am filling this special box with yummy goodies and giving it to a neighbor who just lost her sister a few weeks back to cancer. I'm hoping it'll cheer her up some and also serve as a reminder for a yearly check up.

The box is part of a collection from SVGcuts entitled: Charlotte's Favor Boxes cut at pre-set settings.
Studio g sparkle writer - pink glitter
Think Pink stamp and ink from Hampton Art
Tag: I made in Inkscape. It's a reminder tag to write down your date and time for your scheduled mammogram.

Thank you Lynne for letting me be part of this wonderful event and remember everyone: THINK PINK
