Welcome to the Things I'm Thankful For Blog Hop. This blog hop runs from November 18th through November 19th. For a lot of people, Thanksgiving has become a day to watch football, eat turkey, and watch the Macy's Day Parade. While these are not bad things, some believe the most important part of Thanksgiving is giving thanks to God for our many blessings. God was very much a part of that first Thanksgiving. Although some would say it was just a day of celebration. Historical records show it was a time to give thanks to God.The pilgrims looked at everything as a gift from God, even the sorrowful things they saw as God allowing them to perfect their character. So with that being said we have created this "Things I'm Thankful" blog hop to show you some things we are thankful for and some wonderful things we think of when we think of Thanksgiving. We’ve had so much fun creating this hop, and we have a wonderful line up with some oh-so-talented creators. You will see some lovely projects having to do with Thanksgiving and things we are thankful for and have a chance to win some blog candy along the way. If you have come from (person before you blog info) you are right on track if not you can start at the beginning Honey bearz Designs. I am so glad you joined us today!

I want to send a thankful blessing to two special people in my life so I have made them both cards.

One card is going to my Great Aunt Billie, my grandmother's youngest sister. She is in her mid 90s but still lives in her own home that she and her husband bought back in the 1950's.  My aunt is very talented as well as my grandmother and all the Harley girls were. They all sang, danced and did arts and crafts. My great-aunt has had articles written about her home at Christmas time twice in the Detroit Free Press because she has hand made over 5000 ornaments that she use to put up during the holiday season.

The design in the middle comes from the Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge and is cut at 3 1/2 inches. The colors are washed out but the patterned paper behind showing through the wholes is bright yellow.  The paper comes from the DCWV Amber Autumn stack.

The other card goes to a very special lady also in her 90s. It is my husband's grandmother.  She started her life in Nebraska but then married and moved to Seldotna, Alaska and finally she has settled in Boise, Idaho. She is a wonderful lady and I am thankful that I have had the pleasure of meeting her and having her meet her grand-babies.
The round design in the middle is also from the Accent Essentials cartridge from Cricut and cut at 3 inches. I used stickles glitter in green and gold to accent it. I used Stampendous embossing powder in Jeweled Gold  and then colored in the different areas with my Bic markers.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look and I do hope you'll join us again tomorrow. I love comments and followers just to put a bug in your ear. Now please head on over to Ashley's the glamorous side of scrapping so you can see what she is thankful for.
